The laser is out of alignment. Where to get it fixed I have no idea.

I wasn't even going to piss with it. Not when I was able to pick up a replacement for a really good deal. Just have to rebuild my harness... Again. lol Doing that tonight actually. And that wasn't the only issue, just part of the problem.

Another 125 miles of driving today, plus I had an ambulance run too. Yippie.

Actually, I'm kinda pissed right now.

Ok, get this:

Everyone knows about a seller on Ebay that usually has the clear side markers for sale.

He either has a pair of them listed for sale at one price with shipping for x or a higher price with free shipping.

Lately he has taken to selling front Z lamps in clear bundled with one set of side markers. Fine.

Well I just bought 2 sets of the side markers on one purchase, then this morning I bought the combo Z lights/one set of side markers, all in clear. So its a total of 3 pairs of side markers and a set of front Z turn lamps, all in clear. (one full set for the Z, and one set to fix a couple of broken ones on the base)

I received the first package today via USPS (when the order clearly stated UPS ground) with only ONE set of side markers, not the two I paid for (along with a total of 20 dollars in shipping charges).

Anyway, I have sent him/her/them a couple of messages explaining my concerns and that I was unhappy at this point about the missing set, the extra shipping costs, etc. Guess we will wait and see. The ebay seller is neondials.

If they make good and I get what I paid for, then fine, but they really should combine shipping on this light stuff.

I found one of the wire holders for soldering. they are at "The Source" for in Canada. 16 bucks, they have a 2 way tape sticky base to attach to a work bench.

I also just bought a old school rockford punch 125.2 amp, and a older pioner GM-X962 760 watt for $60.00 cant wait to get my system back together.

Well, "The Source" used to be Radio Shack Canada then Best Buy bought out those stores in Canada and turned them into that. So they are sorta the same, but not quite.

I had fun... Not. Got the base stuck in the piled up snow at the edge of a curve tonight. It was rather greasy, I wasn't really going that fast when I approached the curve, maybe 20, but it wasn't slow enough. Never left the road base or went into the ditch, just got the front right corner stuck enough that I couldn't get it out on its own. So I put it in Park (or so I thought) and stepped out to evaluate the situation and the door shut and it locked itself. THAT pissed me off. The second time I have done this with a beretta, the first being back in April of 1994. lol

Yeah it was still in reverse. Engine was still on. Etc etc. Cell phone was in the car! lol Not that it would have had a signal there anyway.

SO.

I said F it and walked down into the ditch, took a small break, then walked down the road to a house that was not even a quarter of a mile, maybe not even an eighth. Anyway, knocked on the door, borrowed a phone and called my brother to bring me my spare keys and tug me free.

At least the bumper was strong. And I know now that the radiator fan works. haha

LOL!!! That has happened to me a few times over the years. Once when I was warming it up I somehow locked the keys in it for 2 hours. The other I buried it in a snow bank turning around and got out of the car just like you did. Luckily for me the sunroof was open so I crawled in that way.

hahah

Now I have to find another head unit too. This newer one is nice, but it won't support a subwoofer properly, as it only supports extended amps for front or rear hookups. No individual bass or subwoofer control with those so that I can drop the bass from the interior speakers and push bass to the subs only.... Ah well, just have to keep looking. At least my CD's sound normal again and the radio is working.

Folding shovel in the trunk ACE and another set of keys in the wallet. I have an old Nam era one in the trunk. Nice hard plastic case and it's only about a foot long when folded down. Hell you can put it under one of the front seats. I think I paid like 25 buck for it and if you ever need to dig a foxhole your set.

What brand is it? I know that Sony Xplode's have HPF and LPF + Sub controls (that's what I have in my Beretta, or rather sticking out of the dash lol). You have to hold the volume button down for a few seconds to get to the HPF and LPF controls. Their only like ~80 bucks I think.

Offtopic: Anyone know how to get the CD player to fit flush in the dash? I hate how mine sticks out, it blocks the climate controls and looks terrible.

that sucks! i'm always super worried about the doors 'auto locking' on me... i need to disable that... anyone remember anything about that? i will be installing an old alpine pager alarm with the keyless entry likely in the next few months... so i may figure it out. i really just hate auto locks.

and on the amp volume note, some amps have an optional input for a volume control knob, actually uses a phone line if i remember... i have a Cliff's Designs amp, and it has it, but it's been in my project truck untouched for well over a year now... no alarm, i'm not putting anything fancy in the beretta yet.

Naw. I rarely get stuck, but it can happen. And since my wallet was in the car along with my phone, that would have done me nothing. lol

Been all over it. This one simply doesn't have it. It has front and rear support for both radio driven speakers and line out for front/rear to have amp driven speakers. There are no options to control the outputs differently. Its a nice Pioneer unit, but still. My Z has a Sony with the BT features, it was about 200 when I bought it. Thinking about buying a similar one, as I liked the features on that radio, plus having the hands free kit for it is a nice plus.

As for the face... Well you have 3 choices. One, find a shorter radio that is not as deep, so it can fit in the hole farther and use a flatter face adapter. Two, cut the hole deeper, which is not easy. And three, just deal with it. Best you can do is dress it up with a nice kit. Mine aren't bad, but like this Pioneer I just put in, it actually is deeper than the previous one.

As for the locks, there is a fuse to pull for them I believe. Look on your fuse panel.

Eh, this amp doesn't have that much, its small. No biggie, I will just find what I need to fix it. :D

Drove it 340 miles this week already, just put gas in it again today, getting ready to update Fuelly again. Oyi.

Nope on the fuse, I tried that. It just won't unlock then. One of the dumbest things that GM did. Jackasses.
Ace I only got stuck once and still carry a shovel. Had to dig myself out by hand and my friend watched, not going to happen again.
Wallet inside the car? Do you have one of those book sized wallets?

I seem to recall seeing 2 different lock fuses, one was suppose to disable the auto lock/unlock, the other the actual lock mechanism.

Also have updates.

I received all my new side marker lights. Pulled the clear markers from the base tonight, found more wiring issues. Not sure what is up with all the blue bulbs in the lights.... That makes no sense to me, as they are not that bright.... LOL Besides, only one works anyway.

One rear was completely cut off, just the pigtail and bulb in the housing. I put stockers in for now, in fact the worst ones I have, so I can make an LED set of clears for the base.

I bought 2 new ones, as I knew one clear on the car had a crack in the outer lens.

Good news is, I will have some LED side markers for sale eventually. lol

I also got the hood from Chazzman this past Sat, so that is here. Now I have to locate another fender, the one I found is too fucked up to use for this. *sigh

I really hope to get the parts prepped and on the car soon! Also found out the headlights that were on that red base were a mismatched set, one is an aftermarket TSG or something. Its going into the garbage. I don't like aftermarket head lights at all. The other is a nice driver's side, so will definitely need that one. Won't match the older version in design, but that's ok. They will at least look the same in hue and such. Whats worse, I have several bulbs now, and don't really have any matched sets color or brightness wise..... LOL

If you want matching headlights. I have 1 lone passenger side headlight on the shelf in my garage, it's one of the original ones from my Z26. It's in pretty decent shape, (could use some buffing) but the bracket has a crack on top. If you want it I'll sell it to you cheap. I also have a pile of stock sylvania high and low beams and can throw in some.

LOL keep in mind I owned this car during the Fast & the Furious days. At the time the blue bulbs seemed like a good idea. I think at that time everyone liked colored lights, neons and racing stripes. Even the back up lights are blue lol. I always wondered why the rear sidemarkers never worked.
