Drove the 3400 Z tonight at work.. then had a country delivery so I flipped the brights on so I could watch for deer. Got to the house, headed back went to flip the brights back off because a car was coming from the other direction.. guess what happened.. the effing turn signal stalk broke and the headlights are stuck in brights... Errr haha. I will fix it this weekend glad I got a spare steering column with a good stalk on it haha

More vacuum leaks fixed and intake system cleaned out, and more preventative maintenance...and he also cooked dinner. Got myself a keeper!
Now we gotta plan a junkyard trip!!!

Yesterday I dismantled my CAI so I could get the battery out as it had started to leak even though it is only 7 months old! I found that the battery acid had not only leaked onto the intake tubing causing some minor corrosion, but it had made its way into the tubing as well as all over the battery tray. I don't think it leaked, I think it "exploded". So, out came the entire intake as I needed to clean the filter too.
Upon cleaning the filter (K&N) I found a large area where the actual material had come out. This would explain why I also found dried mud splashes in the intake tubing. Sigh, so off comes the top of the throttle body where all of the vacuum lines attach. FILTHY! There was literal dirt in there! DAMN!
I cleaned it all up and put it all together, new K&N filter, battery and all. I took the car to the spray wash next to my house and completely cleaned the engine bay topside and underneath. I then Seafoamed the car but to my surprise just about no smoke came out of the tail pipe. I threw some fuel system cleaner in the tank as well for good measure and now I think all I need is a good idle learn and we should be rocking!
Thank God this car has been retired from racing...
