Bowtie, did you look under the car up at the rear spring pockets? How did those look as far as rust?

If you're in IL, there is no testing on 1995 and older.

But my GT did pass with the 3400 and no tuning on the computer back when they still tested the older cars.

Why would the car not pass? 1995 in my state is the EASIEST to pass... Install a Cat and bam you pass... My 96 has given me more issues because I needed to figure out how to fool the ECM to think all the emissions stuff is working. I think I finally got it though.

thats how mines was. looked decent and had not rot or rust showing with the GFX and bumpers on, but once you took that stuff off you could see it. the day i got rid of i couldnt find a solid point to put the jack to get the thing off the jackstands.
Sounds familiar!
haha yeah are cars were very similar in that aspect. ill find some pics i took before i took it apart and just looking at it you wouldnt be able to tell it was falling apart on the inside.

Yup, mine won best interior & exterior at BfestNE being rotten as a mofo underneath! haha

Anything pre-96 should be a piece of cake to pass inspection.

haha woody i still got the pics from that on my computer.

anything pre 96 like woody said should get a sticker easy. hell in this state as long as the lights work and it passes the jack up test(check for tire play) and its not smoking like cheech and chong your getting a sticker.

I just figured out what I need to do to pass... Now its SO easy for me to get through lol

If you shut off ALL the right codes, readiness monitors check off as soon as you turn the key on now :) 3 out of 4 so I will go in with all four ready. Hell they really can't complain the EGR is functioning, so is the Evap, and the crankcase vent, and its got a cat on it... so really it is 100% within spec regardless of what I'm fooling.

I've been running it, but after it passes I'm putting it up on jackstands and starting in on it... Got much to do :)

Yup. Look at my signature...

It's getting all the problems with it fixed up and then a near 300hp motor that's sitting in my basement... (3400/3500, headers, cam, high compression, port work etc).
