Well still waiting for the fixed digital cluster that came back broke even worse sent back to be fixed. At this point they requested I send in the spare unit I got off of ebay to see if they may be able to compare, maybe use stuff off the spare to get the orig totally working.
History is...
I sent in my orig unit as about 10% of the unit was not working, couldn't see miles on the car (car fax shows 136k as of 6/2010, not so bad), and the mode area under the odom was out.
Well when I got it back only about 5% of the damn this was working. SO it was sent back out, under the lifetime warranty. I hope they fix it or we got a problem Houston. When they first got it, they bench tested it, knoew that it had a few issues but was working, then when I sent it back they saw that it was almost all dead.
Sooo we wait and we wait.

Well cluster should be in tomorrow, they took lcd screen from my spare unit and put it on my orig cluster, 116k on the baby.
Now I have a fight with them. Orig I sent in the cars orig cluster, they bench tested it, says it was fixable. They fix, I get back, its ALL dead, as where when I sent it in 95% it works (no odom though) so I send it back under WARRANTY still, hell it was a week after I got it that they got it back. They had it for 3 weeks, got it working again to about 90%, they knew I had a spare I got off ebay, they asked for it (cost me 45 plus 10 to ship to them) and lucky the lcd on it was fine so they used it.
They wont pay for the spare cluster I bought. They say that since they took the lcd from it that they dont owe me $$$, I am like BS. It was broke (orig car cluster), I sent it in, you said it could be fixed, you said it was, sent it to me, it was broke I sent it back under THEIR warranty for repairs, and they used MY SUPPLIED PARTS to help them fix something that should have been covered under warranty and wont pay for it.
That is like one of us taking in our car to get at starter fixed lets say, they fix it, two days later it dies, in the trunk there is another so they use partsoff of it and wont pay for the unit that they used from me to fix somethign that was covered under their warranty, aka THEY find/supply the par tto fix it at their cost, not mine.

ALSO, NO MORE LEAKS. Soak the car everyway possible, dry as a bone inside.

Well so far the digital cluster is working as it should. We have had a few good rains here also, dry as a bone on the inside. NEXT: get headliner fixed, then start the quet for better door panels, oods and ends, shocks, struts, seem fine but they are OLD so ganna fix them.
If son ends up wanting another car I will have one that is pretty clean and dry with a lot of work done to it.

If he doesn't want it depending on amount of rust I'd be an interested party to purchase. :D

we'll see. I got a lot of $$ in it by the time we are done. Rust wise the car is clean. I'd say 95% rust free and the 5% is surface along fender edges.

One note I just realized. This car does not drop any oil or trans fluid. The bottom of the car is pretty dry. I thought these old GM cars were prone to have burning/leaking, which this one does neither.

Well today tracked down some ashtray assblys for front AND back. Got the A/C charged and is cold. Check it over the next days to see if it keeps pressure. Do not see any leaks. So for now she rides nice and cool.
Headliner gets redone tomorrow along with visors. Pulled two nice rear tail lights to replace the sunfaded, hair line cracked ones that were orig to the car (will keep them though).
Did see a nice 90 today but it had blue interior, one door panel was fine, the other not so, so I passed on them.

Car is at the dudes place that is doing the liner. Getting visors redone also so it will match. The color is going to be a little lighter then stock.

Sure wish I had the money at the time to do my visors on the 95. The sides are not in good shape though. Ruined my 90's headliner when I moved back, had a Cindy Crawford poster hanging up there. Had it facing the other way so I could see her in the rear view.

Well the headline is done and it is SWEET!!!! IF anyone lives near Cincy (Mt Healthy) I can recommend someone that does great work on headliners. He has been at this for decades. Had him redo the visors also.
Car is all back together now and cleaned up as clean can be.
Went back to junk yard today to the 1990 I found and pulled the lock mech. off the glove box and pulled all the AC ventering and movable vents. All of it was like new. Got lucky there. 3 days into the a/c recharge and all is working still, nice and cold.
