Theres a low mile (supposedly) 3500 05 3500 in the yard where the car was hit in the front end. $260 with core charge, $195 if you give them your old motor

Unfortunately, I had to break the ole girl out of hibernation yet again. Van went spaz on me again and put itself into limp-in mode on the tranny. Something about the speed sensor circuit. There are like 6 things it could be, 4 of which involve the wiring harness (short to ground, open, short to voltage, or just a bad spot in the harness wire). Otherwise its the power train module or the transmission module. Ouch. First thing I'm going to do though is change the battery. The 2003 has the ORIGINAL battery from the OEM in it. I know it has been weak, but still working, so going to just swap it out first, see if that fixes anything. Anyways.
During this crisis, the Z makes its appearance so I can have something to drive in the meantime. Sucks as winter is still kinda here, but only for a few more weeks. Most likely it will not go back into hibernation, since gas prices are rising, I need something to save gas in. Going to drive it till the van is fixed, then do some work on the car next so its in ready for the year once the van is good for the road again.
So, yay, back in the Z! Boo though cause the van had to go stupid again to cause it. lol

The first pics of the Z for 2011! OYI.
That was only after driving it about 90 miles this morning. I put on another 50 or so while on the island today. That reminds me, time to update Fuelly.

Yeah, there are very few people who can claim that, I know. And its been nice. Though this week I'm annoyed at it. I drove it Monday, then Tuesday morning I go out to find it has a flat tire on the left front.
Since it was cold, wet, and nasty yesterday, I didn't mess with it, just drove the van, but today thinking about going out, pumping it up, finding the hole, plugging it and going on. I rarely ever get flat tires on my car... Vans? Sure, but car no.
lol
Anyways.
Then later today, hope to start installing my lights and siren for the van!

Oh, I forgot to mention I fixed my flat tire Monday. Was no biggie, just a small nail, plugged it and went on, holding up fine.
Started doing searches for an (well I started with 03') 3400 engine. Man they have prices all over the place. 300 to over a grand. My thing is, low mileage is not as important as it does run ok. I plan to redo gaskets and crap anyhow. Also was looking at trannys, but at least they are cheaper. Basically I want to pick both up, rebuild them, and just swap them in. Simple as that.
IF my money goes like I want, and IF I have time to do it, I will try to get a swap done before fest. HA. But anyway, I can see it now, the day before I leave, the engine won't even be bolted all the way in or something. LMAO
Stay tuned as I do my searching. If someone stumbles across a good deal on one or the other that is local to me (zip of 49725) by all means let me know. Has to be a 2003 or newer 3400 and a 4T60E tranny.
Closer would be nicer, but hey, I will take what I can get.
In the meantime, I am driving the Z during the week right now. So far it is running just fine. Maybe someone will want to buy it after I swap it. LOL

Ok, my list of things I would like to have done before I go to fest:
Change out the quick fit connector going between the t-stat junction and the heater core line.
Fix my visor problem. (The fact I have none)
Find the loose ground I appear to have... Or at least I hope it is a loose ground.
Dress up the interior a bit. Few things to finish from last summer, like the mic wiring for the bluetooth, dress the e-brake a bit, small stuff.
Change oil and oil filter.
Clean engine bay and detail.
Clean whole car and detail. Adjust headlights and polish a bit. Fix rear sidemarkers.. (Yes Styluss, they finally are acting up like yours did)
Prep car for trip, go over checklist, make sure to have tools, etc.
Bring cooler for the weekend. Few clothes. AND ME.
Updates as I get to them. If I have time (which I rarely do anymore) I will do a few other things too.

Geez, been awhile since I posted in here.
Let's see. Drove to bfest 2011 and back again. Mileage is now getting close to rolling over 231 thousand. Driving it nearly every day a week, averaging 500 miles, or approx a tank a gas... HA
Lots planned for it, when I have time again. Hope to have time once I get another project running, so I can drive this one less. I just hope it doesn't take too much to at least get it road worthy. I also still have to prep a hood and bumper for the 2003 caravan so I can get that done by winter. Fun fun!
Got the beta tail light mods in the initial planning and test phase. Lots to do on that too. Once I get some bills paid up and stuff will order more LEDs to get an actual set built. This Z will probably be an endless job of work till it dies or I sell it.
Till the next post....
