If we get enough people together I think Karting is still an option, but maybe just not a the larger fast place due to the necessity of having to setup a group prior to showing up... We would have to go to a smaller setup, but even stuff like that is a blast. Just no electric ones, those suck because they never get a chance to charge with so many users.

Here is the info Mike Pride had.
If we want we can do it almost exactly like last year, which would be a private Grand Prix style event. Each of us would compete in multiple qualifying heat races, leading up to a final feature race. Awards for the top drivers in the heat race. We would be there for about 3 hours, 2 of which would be track time. Pricing on this is a flat fee - $1700 for the group. So, the more drivers involved - the cheaper it is per person. For example, if we pull in 25 drivers (about what we had last year IIRC), it would be $68 per driver. Spectators would be free...

They also have open karting, which is $20 per 8 minute race with a $2 helmet rental and $2 shoe rental.

Our date - Thursday June 23rd - is 100% open right now, so we have the pick of the litter. We already have 25 cars registered for Bfest, so we should have no problem pulling in enough people to cheapen this thing out. A potential 50% deposit would be required to fully reserve the event, so I would like to see how many people would be interested in the Grand Prix....
Only option otherwise is the "open" if we want to go to the same place, the only difference is we can not do a bracket style Private race down to one winner... it would just be racing with anyone who is there.

Mike was trying to get a group of 25 to make the cost around $68 each using the "group rate" registration and private race... with only 10 as listed in his thread your looking at $170 each...

See thats another problem... Its not just "riding go karts" if you guys would look at the links of the place we are going to visit you would see it would have been a indoor private race on a 40 mph track... Not a 4mph put put POS at a Mini golf park.

Worthless to promote that any further though.

IMHO $68 is a STEAL for what we are getting. Karts, Suits, Helmets, Timing, Bracket competition tracking indoors!!

Karting just really isn't my thing. That would be the only reason I'm not going.

I'm still looking to get at least 10 more for the karts to make it worth it. Go add your name to the list if interested. I have a feeling we may have some additions coming (someone get Brad Johnson to sign up as he is registered now...). LOL

Needless to say this is NOT dead, we just need to get more to sign up. Keep in mind that this is for a couple of hours at the track. Now take that $6 for 5 min put put kart price and multiply that out... You get my point!

Pittsburgh is the one and only time I remember a non 1/4 mile event... and that was due to rain. And thats only events I've been to... I'm sure there were others that got rained out or didn't have it scheduled but I could be wrong.

If there is no 1/4 track, I may swap to the F-body brakes. They look so nice behind those rims... :) Its as easy as changing pads and rotors with simply a brake bleed when your all done.

There has always been some kind of event planned, but it either got rained out or it was too long of a drive for most people to make.

Jon, are you not going to go hit the TNT in Cincy then? I thought you were going to that one if all else failed.

To think this is finally the year I have a driver for my autox GTZ (so I can get a good 1/4 time on it) and I could run it, and all the local tracks are booked and/or not calling us back...
