Eric, I may have some work for you. I need to get it rounded up and get a price from you.

Since I'm not doing crap on the car, here's an update on the house! I tore out all the moldy water damage in the basement from our kitchen sink leak and cleaned it all up & sealed it. Built a new subfloor, walls, insulation, vapor barrier, drywall...and redid some electrical that was cob-jobbed by the PO. They had a splice hidden in the wall without a junction box, and single wires run outside their romex insulation. I also added a couple outlets and a cable hookup while I was at it, and moved the light switch so I can install a door without covering the switch while it's open.

Before you seal up that wall, get rid of that garbage splitter. Every splitter causes loss on the line, and if you ever want to put high speed internet or a digital box on that outlet, you can forget it. Go get a splice to join the two cables together - its called an F81.

I wish I could have a false floor in my basement, but I get some leaks in heavy rain.

Plus I have a habit of overfilling my ponds...

That was a line the PO put in that I won't be using. I ran the new cable hookup to the opposite wall so my corner computer desk will fit.

Seems like you're pretty good at renovations, Woody. You should make a secret bookshelf doorway that leads to a laboratory.

Since I was almost done with the basement, Tiffwad decided to take up the carpet in the spare bedroom. So yesterday I finished up the new carpet after painting the ceiling & walls. Now she got a bunch of free cabinets that take up my whole garage. I'll put some up in the garage, and the rest in the basement around the washer & dryer. It never ends!

Dozer can poop on the carpet now, and you'll never notice!

He's banned from that room. The carpet smelled like piss, that's why we replaced it!

No updates here for a while...and I'm bored now so here you go.

This is the laundry room part of the house when we moved in:

Last year we got a bunch of free cabinets and I bought a HE washer/dryer combo. (Had to look around hard to find some with no chrome.) So last month I started the project to finish the laundry room in the basement. Built a subfloor, two false walls and got the cabinets laid out. Going with recessed lighting to maximize headroom since it's only a 7' ceiling down there. I ran water supply and drain lines to the garage for my new sink before building the wall. Once the drywall is all finished I can install the base and wall cabinets and do the countertop.

I also cut the crap out of my hand with a utility knife and had to get 10 stitches. If not for that I'd probably be done with the project by now...but I'm hoping to get back at it this week. I've had 3 weeks to heal now, but it still looks pretty Frankenstein and the doc was worried it might split open again.

On to the progress pics:

Damn that looks like it hurt! I love the washer/dryer combo. Your utility room is a tad bit larger than mine. I envy you lol.

On a side note, looking through this thread has me thinking about posting up my house project since my other thread was deleted when bstuff closed down.

That would take a while to post everything you've done! haha

I went through some of your pics on facebook with Tiff the other day and your style is similar to ours. BTW...How do you like that granite sink, and what brand is it?

Started using my hand some on Monday the SOB hurts pretty good now. The cut hurts from stretching the skin and the thumb/palm muscle hurts from not using it so long. My finger strength isn't bad...but my grip and my thumb as still pretty weak so far. It's gotten better as the week has gone on, but still not where it should be yet.
