One other thing Robert, I feel that the rings weren't sealing too well and was thinking it might be time to replace them... Let me know what you think. I could also just re-hone the cylinders and hope that de-glazes the rings and they seal better but there was some carbon deposits below the 2nd ring and #2 looked a little oily. I can still see the cross hatch in the cylinders so the bore is fine nothing to worry about there. RA has a full set of Sealed Power Premium rings for 101. Let me know.

I'll check the shop nearby and see what they would charge to hone it. I do have the tool you can use in a drill and that's about the most it would need.

Ok then you can just hone and re ring it.

So once it gets de-glazed and new rings there won't be any oil or carbon?

Not much done yet, Powerwashed the block yesterday, need to attack some of the chipped paint so I can re-coat the thing. Waiting on parts mostly... the rings should be showing up today or tomorrow and I should have my ball hone tool soon. I'll be finishing up block cleaning and painting tuesday probably and then hopefully starting on bottom end assy.

for your questions Robert, The plugs you have currently in the heads will be fine, they are Irridums and are not worn in the least, the De-glazing will help seat the new rings which yes should lessen the oil content in the cylinders and make sure your getting better/all of your compression and don't have any blow by.

Just ordered all of the hone tools I need, including a neat little 3/4 lifter bore hone, that will be cool to be able to re-hone those.

Robert, did you know Jeff had it setup with both oil sending units a digital and analog one.... One for the ECU and the other for the dash... I have to think if I combine the wiring to one plug that both items will work, since on an analog sensor there is both the analog feed and a digital on/off feed.

Do you want to install this and nix the dead AC compressor thats there?

Yeah take the ac compressor out and get that pulley.
Im going to order the clutch saturday you should have it around wednesday.You should also get the injector harness and flywheel today.Let me know when you get the gear from ben too.lol

Ok, cool. Got a lot yesterday, Rings, new coolant hose I need, Gear from Ben, and the flywheel and injector harness and such. Have my Hone stuff coming in the mail soon as well.

If I do anything tonight, (may be doing a water pump for my dad tho), it will be cleaning the parts and getting it all ready for paint. Once the block is painted I should have the hone stuff by then and can get the bore's ready to go, then gap the rings, and then get it to a rotating assy before this weekend... Will and Lisa are coming down and we are doing a re-gasket on her Z... pretty much every gasket on the engine is going to get replaced lol this will be fun.

Her poor car needs a lot of attention; hopefully you guys can get it all knocked out for her.

Yeah it needs more than the gaskets, but at least doing this will allow the engine to run and not leak fluids all winter long since Will needs something to be reliable.
