what cured the condition you were concerned with, regarding the suspension/steering?

Going to check that today, didn't drive the car at all this weekend. When I let the car down on the jack it didn't make any noise. So the front control arm bolt must have been the problem.

So the popping is gone and the car likes to turn left now. Swear there was some bushing growl, but it was quiet. For now many things still need to be done as time is running out for this repair season. Need to reseal the cowl on the passenger side, check for an AC leak(yeah that again), rear sway if there is time and put on some slotted rotors that were just ordered. Other things are on hold. One is working on small holes in the rockers. Just got lazy and quit spraying used oil in them. Really would like some sort of treatment for them using a sprayer and running it down the inside. Got to find a welder at low cost that will not burn threw.

Doing those inner bushings probably threw the alignment off just enough. Or you twisted the caliper hose? I doubt you'd make that oopsies.

Did a lot of crazy things to get the bolts into the arms. The caliper and rotor stayed on so no twisting. The steering wheel is off center and betting the alignment is out some(still tracks good). Alignment is on the list for this weekend, which is #2 after sealing the cowl(if it doesn't rain too much).

An update: No popping so far, the bushing growl is back. Not sure what is up with that. This front end crap has been that way, do something and everything is fine, later it seems like nothing was done. Yeah it's still coming from the same side.

What is a bushing growl?

Does it temporarily go away or lessen when you first relieve the suspension then let down on ground? I'm going to point at the struts being it.

It seems to come and go. Just like before it happens when turning the wheel to straighten the wheels after backing up. Better not be the strut it's band new, so are the shocks. Did them all at the same time with the springs.
Didn't hear a thing when I let it down after the bolts, but the wheel was not even off the ground at the time. My car sits very high.

KYB struts?

GR2's, so yes. It does make noise when jacked up, not down. Well resealed the cowl because of a few cracks in the sealer.

Bushing growl is what I call the sound of dry bushings rubbing. Not a squeak, more of a grunt.

I've had KYB struts, shocks, and relative mounts premature fail. Not all at once, but over a short period of time after install the gremlins would surface. Had a strut "grunt/squeak" right after install when jouncing the car or going over wavy roads.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye on it, not wanting to change it out just yet do to major pain that it is to get it done.

Bit off topic: The 95 is bucking when the converter is locked up and going up hill. Is that the TCC or the solenoid?

can you manually select low range and have the symptoms change? Go away? ???
