I did drawer liners and socket organizers and all that jazz... and that actually made me realize how many sockets I am missing... LOL...

Time for some new sets.

What kind of socket organizers did you pick? I went with those craftsman ones that the sockets snap too. I have to pry them off most of the time. They kinda suck.

Big plastic trays with circles... the sockets sit upright... no clips.

But for those, just screw them to the top opening of your tool box and then you can pull them off... For drawers only the type I'm using make sense since clearance for most is slim. I can fit only a socket standing upright... any higher and i think the drawer wouldn't close.

I like them mobile so I could move the whole rail from area to area or in my junkyard toolbox. I thought about mounting them, but then i would buy a new set if sockets for the junkyard lol.

They never used to be so tight, and its only some of the clips. Might try to oil them lol

i got some of those awhile back. either got to re-arrange some stuff in my chests or buy one with deep drawers for the deep sockets.

the clips are a PITA. i like the plastic trays better, also easier when it's cleanup time.

I think I'm going to retire my portable Craftsman box with the plastic trays and circles for sockets. It's been used & abused for years and it shows. And my Craftsman crap keeps breaking. Going to get a set of good Snap-On ratchets.

My buddy used to bitch about snap on, saying craftsman has the same "break it we replace it no-questions-asked" policy as snap on.

I pointed out Snap On tools dont break. So dont really need the warranty.

Welded in the new cab corner and got the whole underbody Raptor lined. Now we'll see how well it holds up.

The Raptor stuff seems pretty rugged so far. I like it. Cranked the torsion bars 6 turns and it's pretty close to level now. Rides much better...they must be pretty worn out at 230k. Tinted the windows with some pre-cut 35% from ebay too.

I ordered some precut tint too for my legacy... I did amy's impreza with it and it came out good.

Well, my stupid 4L60E is on the way out. It has never been quite right (I'm sure thanks to the elec shifting problem when I bought it) and I think the damage done before was just too much. This whole last year it has been getting worse & worse, especially with any kind of weight in the back. It is ridiculously sluggish and smells like hot, burning clutches any time I have to drive a steepish grade.

So, I'm looking at either a "heavy hauler" 4L60E for $1500 that is supposed to be able to tow in OD up to 8000lb and hold 500lbft...or a bulletproof NV4500 5spd out of a 3/4 ton for probably about the same price or maybe a little less. The NV4500 requires swapping the input shaft on the transfer case and cutting holes in the floor & firewall for the shift & clutch hydraulics, and pulling the dash to weld in a bracket for the clutch pedal and some simple rewiring.

Once the salvage place gets back to me with confirmation they have everything I need for the 5spd swap and final pricing I can make a decision.
