He said before around 3000 or something. FA1B is a 2795 stock... Its the same type that PDQ started with on mine... I'm trying once again, my PDQ-C55 converter which they say was a FAFB when it came it but was tweaked up to 3195 +/- or something.

How much do those go for? I'm not all that happy with my new stall, but it only cost me $150. Looks like I should have loooked over this topic again. Missed that the stall speed was already said.

Depending the quality, reputation, who you know, how involved you get with research you can find a torque converter any wheres from 100 buck to 500 bucks for a street use application.
The norm I often see is under 150.00 without too much leg work and calls made.

You know, I am curious about something. This may be a bit off topic but I just have to ask since its the noob in me:
What exactly does the stall amount of your torque converter do for you anyway? Stock vs whatever you guys have been buying for these? What was the stock stall normally at anyway?

1650 is stock stall.
Read up, much easier than trying to re-explain how/why it works.

I may be overshooting mine, but I'm not sure... From what I told the PDQ guy he said
"from what you've told me you should be quite happy with that converter, but we can make tweaks to it if you find that necessary"

Great info here guys. I'm going to send that link to my friend that has read on LS1 fourms that he should use a 3500 stall. His car is a pure DD.
I'll look into another converter for the later 3400 build if it ever happens.

That sounds like the good ole 4.10 rear is where its at... thats the BEST and only gear ratio that should be used if you ask some hotrodders...

LOL I talked him into a 3.42( he wanted 3.73, I said 3.23). He has a 4L60, so anything more than that would kill his MPG real bad. His old gear is 2.73 and it's a Z28. Well back to the topic at hand.

Topic at hand is a car in a driveway with 2k worth of WOT-Tech parts in the trunk... I'll tell you if I knew where this damn car was located I would relieve all that extra weight in the back.

I'd agree with that! T56s love 4.10s. But an LS1/4L60E Z28 should have a 3.73 gear best combination of performance/efficiency.
Asylum...your ZIP has letters in it! How do you punch that in at the gas pump? haha
