My radiator has 175k and is not as efficient as it use to be obviously.  Its also for an auto which I no longer have.

Now with a turbo coming I want everything to be in tip top shape.   So I heard some things I am not sure are true.  I heard the fan on the 3100 cars was different and a better design then the older cars.  I also heard W-bodys have dual fans.

I am looking for the best direct bolt in I can get.  So a new 91 radiator for a manual plus a 3100 fan and or dual fans...which of that will work?  I also heard a TGP radiator would leave a lot of room for intercooler piping but I have no idea if that fits without modification.

Thanks for any info.

I would get the summit dual fans on a switch or relay system.
Thats me, and I am not fancy.

True, they do keep the car nice and cool.

I'm sure you can do the same with the GP setup, but not be as cooled as fast.

I don't know if the fans are better, on the 3100 cars. The setups are the same except for the trans lines being a different size and on the opposite side. The 3100 fan might be slightly heavier but I doubt their any beter.  They are also in the same spot.
I think the W body cars that have dual fans just have 2 smaller fans, I'd think you'd be alright with stock fans, with the TGP setup, and not going for massive HP numbers.

K-flo confirmed that the 3100 cars have an improved fan and they installed one on Dustin's GTU and the difference was noticeable.

I have one on my car and there is definitely a noticeable improvement in cooling.

Go for a Modine replacement radiator.  It has a thicker core than stock.  The only thing is there is no opening for a low coolant sensor.  I just grounded mine and keep an eye on it  coolant temp/level.

The newer style fan is definitely the way to go, I've got a w-body parts car laying around and I wanted to do the same thing, run dual fans so as to cover the whole surface of the radiator.  No such luck though, the setup is about 2" too wide to fit in there.  I'm still looking around for some smaller car with a dual fan setup, but most cars with a small enough engine bay like the Beretta's usually have 4 bangers that didn't need 2 fans.

LOL, I ran into the same problem when I was looking at dual cooling fans in Grand Prixs and Oldsmobiles (?) in the junkyard last year.  Haven't looked for a solution since then with all my other projects, heheh.

You know that one fan is on the inside *engine bay* and the other is on the outside right?
Just have them overlap slightly, one a pull through and one a push fan, thats how the TGPs are, even though one is "technically" an intercooler fan

run waterless coolant from Evans, should take care of any overheating issue.

I'm pretty sure that's only on the TGP's though, probably why it's technically an intercooler fan.  Both fans are in the engine bay of all the w-body cars we've got around here: 92 & 94 grand prix, 95 & 96 lumina

Just find a GEO metro and use there fans.  They have two and are compact.

I have 3100 fan for you.  If you ditched the AC condenser and are at least run egg-crate style grill, you should have no problems with ovr heating.  I ran this setup at Nelson Ledges, near Youngstown, along with a front mount intercooler and had no problems with over heating.
