Question About Beretta Potential

Hi I do not have  a beretta right now because I recently sold mine to get my Camaro.
But I am looking to get another one but I would want it to be able to run close to 14.00. What kind of mods would it take to get close, would a 3400 swap with some other minor mods make it or would it take forced induction or nitrous?

Also what kind of power is a stock V6 5 speed good for?

a stock 3.1 v6 5 speed is 140hp I believe.

the 3100 is 160hp but only came with a 4t60-e.

the 3400 is rated up to 185 I think.

the fastest 3400 5 speed went 14.3

check out my list of 1/4 mile times in the drag racing section to find out what you would need.

A well driven 3.1 5spd can hit 15.8-15.9.  I saw a couple of stock 3.1's with 130k+ run 15.9's.

A 3400 5spd with headers, intake, full 2.5" exhaust and UDP and chip should hover around 14.0.  If you add an LSD and drag radials high 13's.

I'm trying to sell mine to buy a camaro too and it's already supercharged so you would just need the manual and an engine/build smaller pulley to hit 14'si should have the dyno numbers in a week if all goes well.

A 5spd with 3400 swap, and a tuned chip (check out v6z24.com guys) with headers, UDP, and a cam would get you there. There's more you can do like 3500 stuff (top end, or just the plenum).

3100 with the auto's run usually between 16-17 sec. Mine ran a 16.0 but that's rare that they do that.

At any rate, 5spd is the way to go.

3500 swap!

My 100% dead stock 2005 3500 ran 14.80's with a fubared 3t40 trans.

It has now run high 14.5's with a 3.73 FDR and an LSD, and will go quicker.

Still idles like a baby at 750 RPM.

The good part is, Me and some friends (Chris "domesticcrew.com" and Rodney "3400beretta on B'Stuff") have worked hard to make this OBD-1 chip work.

Hope this helps.

If you need more info on this swap "asylummotorsports@yahoo.ca" and I will answer your questions honestly, or direct you to Chris who actually did the swap.
