I am in need of a knowledgeable expert on the 2.8 / 3.1 that may be able to save me some time searching through threads and archives for what may be an extensive project.

All I remember is Comp cams. There was a 3.1 god here just before I joined. He had a great NA engine that he later put a turbo on. He gave up on Berettas after I joined.
Did you miss out on the ported intakes? I almost bought them for the hell of it.
Oh one last thing: 1.6 rockers, you will have to have new valve guides or you will be burning oil. I thought there was an upgrade for the chain at one time.
You must forgive me I was going to build a nice NA 3.1 when I had one, but it's now out of site, out of mind.
Ever thought about joining 60 degree?

i'm not sure if super dave started with the mpfi motors, but he had a mean running 3500 in a 94ish z24 a while back. now he has a 3500 camero rolling hard as well. you shoul be able to find him on 60degree. think he pops on here from time to time as well.

Any time you ask those guys though they will tell you your wasting your time with a 3.1.
Anything for a 2.8 Camaro internal parts wise should work.

I also used '99 Grand Am 3400 injectors in my 2.8 for a while, I would not suggest it...but I had a little more umph....36mpg highway....and about 7mpg city with a SES fuel flooding error while stopped. lol

STEP OFF us 2.8 & 3.1L lovers! We are a dying breed yet are VERY proud of our little putt-putts!
I have some things in the works for mine that I hope will solidify my place in 2.8L history even more...

I will always miss my 3.1L. That thing was a factory freak! Never did a compression check, but even at 213k it would start with a "boom". My 3100 does not even have my respect, but I'm more of a low end power guy, my cars are DD's.

I dont think there are many parts made to get more power out of a 3.1 but if i would do this i'd go with a nice cam, heavily ported heads, ported intake, higher compression, headers and exhaust. And a good tune ofcourse.
You still could turbo that engine... that would push you to around 200hp with the chip and everything. TGP parts would fit there with little mods.

TGP although nice were very undersized... if your going to turbo it just turbo it right and get a custom setup and just follow the exact setup the TGP used.
