Hey guys,

Have a qusetion? Went to start the Beretta today and it would not start? ....ran fine the other day. I would hit the key and it would fire up for a second or two...and die. It did this about 10-12 times and then it started....turned it off and fired rigth back up. I took it out for a ride and was driving fine and then.... it just died, fell on its face for a second or two and then was fine.

Any ideals! Thanks

My guess is, it won't be the last time this happens. Probably something had a bad connection that wiggled itself back into place. Not going to know until it happens again and you can start troubleshooting it. Could be spark related, fuel related, etc.

I was thinking fuel problem at first, but could here the pump running. So, thinking its spark...maybe a ICM going bad?

Its possible. Could also be possible that there is simply a bad connection to it from one of the 3 connectors on the ICM. Like I said, till the problem happens again, its hard to know and troubleshoot.

Don't forget, there is more than just a fuel pump in the fuel system. You have injectors and such too there. Not to mention timing sensors, MAP, TPS, etc.

Ok, just checking. Do you have the time to have the ICM tested?

Just for fun pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is any gas in there.

I'm going to bet that nothing shows up, or at least nothing that has to do with the problem.

Ok, did as DTMAce said and checked all the connection on the ICM, TBS, MAP, ect.. all looked good. Also, as Money said checked fuel pressure regulator ..no fuel in the vac line. Had the car scanned and the only code was 1441 " fuel EVAP system code". Also found out my check engine bulb was out...replaced the bulb and now have a check engine lite LOL! Well, I know it's not a bad purge valve, as it was replace when I did the tune up. A few year back I got the 1441 code and got the valve and come to fine out the hose had come off. Checked the hose on the valve, good. Ok, on the 1441 a bad switch or something else? could this be my problem?
