I would like to know what the process is for removing the yellow haze from my headlights. I have seen people refer to sanding them. What grits of paper, and is polishing compound used also?  

You can try a rubbing or polishing compound or a product like Fritz (or whatever the hell it's called)
It's just plastic, so you don't want to get too aggressive.
