I have seen a lot a posts on here about wanting european taillights for our Berettas. I was wondering if anybody has tried to contact Guide Corp (the manufacture for our light assemblies) about a group buy. If not, I would be willing to do some leg work and research the possability if no one has already. I used to work in the automotive industry, and our rules were that we had to keep tooling for at least ten years after the last model year for spare parts, so surely the tooling is still there.

I guess my question is how many of you would be interested? Also would you want the complete assmebly, or just the internal amber lens assembly?

PS Also I am not talking about aftermarket tails you see on everthing now days, I am talking OEM Euro spec.

How about head lights too? If the price is way less than the price from GM I may be interested. They just cost so damn much for some tail lights and head lights, that's what's keeping me from buying them. I'd be more interested in head lights, but if that's not anoption then maybe the tails.

To tell you the truth I never thought about the Euro spec headlights, I was more interested in the taillights.  I know that the euro spec taillights are no longer available from the dealership, but I don't know about the euro head lights.  If I get enough interest here on the taillights for me to contact Guide Corp, I will certainly ask about the headlights too, but my primary interest will still be the taillights!

You do know theres a little more work involved with these other than just installing them.. IIRC from Heavywoody he said he had to make some changes to his brake light harness.

Yea If you give us the needed supplies and instructions I am in if they are not too expensive.

I'd be interested, instructions or not, I think I can figure out the wiring. If the price wasn't unholy, then they should be a hot item.

This could be a multi million dollar venture.  Beretta owners and Guide.

When either of you figure it out, let me know.  There's more to it then what you see in that Haynes wiring diagram.

Why would the wiring be so much differ than the current U.S tails?  Just to be a PITA ?

4 red lights.....2 filament bulbs on each.....turn signal controls the brakelight switch, brakelight switch = 1 filament, and parking lamp = the other. euro tails.....2 red 2 orange......you gotta separate turn signals, and a buncha other ####.

I would be more interested in a Alteeza type tail light and a HID head light.  There has to be someone that can design a tail light that is exotic but still looks Beretta!  I am already looking for the BMW headlights from a junk yard to install, but they are far and few. and the tail lights are most likely not going to happen..  Instead of working on a group buy, why are you people not trying to get them to sponsor the Beretta fest, side fest, or the board??  

Many companies do not make anything for the Beretta when there is so many owners out there with cars in good condition!  If you contact them to build a product for us, Ask them to GET INVOLVED WITH THE BERETTA COMMUNITY!!   No matter what anyone thinks --- We NEED sponsors to get involved ! ! ! ! !  

Blah @ broke.net - many of us are not as bad as we would like to think.. If someone would make a product FOR the Beretta, a lot of us would be interested.  We are Broke.net cause all of us have to spend way to much $$$ on modding parts to fit our cars!  .  .  .  Look at Horsepower TV, They took a Civic on a $8,000 budget. using that, they bought the car, built the exhaust, intake, electric, NOS, put on a full body kit, put a system in and still have money left!!   It cost so little cause the parts are available!

Get these companies to be a part of us!!!

HAHA, ask Jason, he went through hell and trying to get it right....have you got it yet Jason?  It took me about an hour or so to get it all right, and "Thats Nice" I like 'em, even though its kinda weird at night seeing only the bottom lights on, but looks hella cool during the day/sunshine

I can offer some help on wiring if need be as well....

Someone should post how to modify the light's for when theese get made. Or better yet tell me how just because it looks cool with or without the amber lens.

Update...

I have done some leg work, like I said I would, and have come up with a couple leads.

I have got in contact with a couple people at Guide Corp., and they are checking into getting the lens only.  Should have some more info on that one in a couple days!

Also got in contact with the company that makes the OE remanufactured US version of our taillights.  You have probably seen these on various parts internet sites.  Anyway, they acted like they could possably make these for us, but I need to contact another person within their company to have them take the idea to their sales meeting at the begining of the year.  I will update on this lead when I hear more.

Also...

I know several of your were wondering about the wiring.  I know Geoff, and a couple others (no offense) are probably keeping quiet on this because of the uniquness of their cars, and I probably would to if I were in their shoes.  In light of this I will add this note for now...

I drive around 80 miles a day to and from work.  Of course my '93 GTZ isn't always doing the speed limits, therefore I pass several cars a day.  Also during my drive I have plenty of time to brainstorm on this project.  I have seen several cars out there that also have the amber turn signals seperate from the red stop/tail light.  Also there are several of these that are GM cars, for example the Grand Ams (older ones).  With this in mind, let's not think of it like we are reinvinting the wheel here, just use the resources that GM has aready givin' us!
