So, I decided to take the Beretta on a trip from Vegas to Laguna Hills, CA to see some friends. I admit I was a little reluctant after the strut issue and the honestly the age and miles. 178,+++. But the car pulled through. About 8 hours, close to 600 miles and at least 3,000 feet variation of elevation round trip, the temp gauge never passed the half way mark. What impressed me the most was the gas mileage. 34 mpg. 33.97 to be exact. Totally blown away. Who needs a hybrid! Just wanted to share.

Glad everything went good for ya.

I was always amazed with my previous Berettas. I remember the trip to Bfest2001 - I drove from Idaho to Kentucky and got 38-39 mpg the whole way in my GTZ. It amazes me that my parents' little commuter Toyota Yaris with no power or options can't get that and it's an economy car!

I picked up my GTU in Florida and drove it 1,500 miles to Wisconsin with 180,000 on it. I had no issues with doing so. Only scare I had was as it got colder, the dust guard started rubbing on the flywheel till it got warm and twisted back into place. :D

Yeah, it amazes me how good the mileage is. It pisses the wife off that my 3.4L '91 Beretta gets better mileage than her 2.5L '06 Subaru.

Boy Laguna Hills really went down hill. It didn't look that way last time I was out there.

Speaking of new cars I'm really missing my G6 this winter... I ended up buying a Trailblazer to replace it and Stabilitrac is the biggest troll this side of the internet...

System off
Alllright, lets see what this icey parking lot can dish out!
Tires spinning - System Engaged
WUT?! YOU POS!!
Also, System is not equipped with heated seats. Bite my salt covered ass human.

I will say AWD snow drifting in the wife's Sube is fun.

My truck has floor shift 4WD. I hate anything automatic. haha I even put a rocker switch in the front diff actuator wiring so I can play with 2LO. I have complete control of my machines!

Nice.

My 1990 Beretta Indy went on a trip, I drove one way 400 miles, then it broke. Towed it to an auto store, then fixed it in the lot in an hour.
Fuel regulator broke.

I always take basic tools, enough to tear down the engine half way, possibly other things. Jack, jack stand and spare tire.
A set of 5-25 mm deep wall sockets and a set of regulars, same range with a few rachets and extentions goes a long way, and don't forget the big old flat head screw driver, maybe a couple channel locks, needle nose, universal, other stuff... lol

Woody, my wife is having all the fun in her Subie in PA. I'll have to wait 'til next winter to play.

Ghost, I do the same. My Beretta have been on a few trips over the past few years and I never leave without a tool kit and extra parts. Amazing I've never had to use anything.
