well i've been needing to replace my suspension for a while now and i've finally gathered up the extra funds to do it... i'm going to get the el cheapo gabrial ultra struts and shocks from AZ simply because they come with the LLT warranty and if they fail... free replacement

Try www.shox.com, get a quote from them, email summit racing and have them price match, only 7 bucks shipping through them!

I paid ~ $187 a couple years ago for mine.

Well, I hear ya, I hear ya. But then again, mine has the OEM base model suspension installed in 1994....   gotta be an improvement on that.  You get what you pay for, I have no illusions.  But then again, this is just my DD.  I like my little Burrito, but I can only afford so much.  Go with the best you can afford, I say.  If the KYBs only last half as long as Bilsteins, then I'll just have to get rid of this car sooner, ha!  If anyone knows of cheaper websites for Eibach-KYB-EnergySuspension parts, please let us all know...

i was searching for the eibach pro kit and some one told me summitracing will price match shox.com which is 187 total from summitracing but that was a few years back so the price may be different now... i emailed shox requesting a quote on the 3488.140 kit almost 2 months ago and have yet to recieve a reply.  So much for their CS.

oh and BTW... i need new suspension very bad... every bump and turn talks to me

I don't know where you heard that. They're better than the Gabriels and they have the same warranty. In fact, I wouldn't recommend using Gabriels with Eibachs. They aren't valved high enough and won't last nearly as long as the KYBs.

FYI- there is no "gas" in shocks/struts. Its pressurized fluid.

I just got a quote from shox.com of $214 and change for eibachs for the 95 Z26.  Be careful which springs you get because the suspension changed in the rear.

I had Canuck Motorsports springs on the 91 GT before it was totalled and I was pretty happy with them.  Stiff ride, but not unbearable.  I got the springs for $100 at the time tho.  Now they want $230 (cdn).  Talk about inflation.

E You'll notice that the damper cutaway to the left is a gas-charged unit–commonplace today. "Gas-charged" means there's a volume of nitrogen gas at the bottom of the cylinder, and the gas is separated from the hydraulic fluid by a floating piston. The gas keeps the fluid under constant pressure so it doesn't aerate as much and wear out as fast. (Remember, gas can be compressed, liquid can't.) The common perception is that gas-charged dampers give a stiffer ride than hydraulic dampers. That's a generalization. It can be true, but let's just say it depends on the application and how the suspension was originally designed.

There really is gas in gas-charged shocks.

I Lost a set of KYB struts with only 10K or 12K miles on them. They lost all their gas.
I couldn't say specifically what caused it, but I won't be buying another set...
