Got a new toy: Arctic Cat ZR 600

Not the craziest sled out there but the 00-02 ZR has always been my dream sled.
I grew up on 340cc Arctic Cat Jags and Pumas and got a 94 Jag Z 440 F/C sled (pictured) about 5 years ago so a 600 was a big jump for me. I was actually looking for a ZR440 originally when I realized that these 600s with the state of the art (at the time) ZR chassis still manage to feel very light and nimble and weigh only 35# more than my dads 2up Puma. This particular one is a 2000 ZR 600 EFI with batteryless ignition and is also my 1st liquid cooled sled.
Most sleds especially at the time used a battery with their EFI system so subsequently a dead battery meant a dead sled.
Features include FasTrack long travel slide-rail system with adjustable torsion springs and an Extra Travel Tunnel (ETT) with 13.5" of travel which was the first of its kind in the late 90's and is still the standard for today, AWS V double wishbone A-arms in the front with Arctic Cat high performance gas (IFP) shocks, 105hp 599cc light weight case reed twin Suzuki power plant, drilled hydraulic disk brake, and a Torque sensing link which prevents the rear from squatting under acceleration providing more grip and comfort at the same time. This was another first and took the other manufactures a while to figure out. Im kind of a "Cat person" as you might of noticed although I have nothing but respect for the other manufacturers and would love to jump on a new Yamaha Apex some time.
What is great for me is with the new Firecat line and similar progressions made by the Skidoo Polaris and Yamaha this type of sled is only worth 1800 to 2500$ now.
I payed 2200$

IMO the ZR chassis is one of the best ever designed. I don't think I'll ever own an Arctic Cat this isn't built on it. I currently own an '03 ZR 800 Sno Pro & an '02 Z 570. I've been a Cat fan for years.
Your sled looks really damn clean for a 2000. How many miles are on it?
Since you're a Cat fan, I'm sure you'll appreciate these.

I wish we got enough snow to justify owning one of these...

Sad that I never got mine out when we had snow (too busy at xmas time).
I've got a '98 Ski Doo Grand Touring for the fam, '70 Evinrude Bobcat 437 (440) with matching sleigh, '75 Merc MX 440, and a '75 Ski Doo TNT F/A 440. The TNT is the closest thing to a race sled I've ever driven. They used to actually use them as race sleds back in the day, and I still see them up in Eagle River for the vintage races. Equivalent to a newer 600 HO MXZ. How do I know? Raced one and we stayed neck and neck to 90 mph
Pics below, except the GT. Everyone and thier mother has seen one of those. I do like electric start, heated grips, and reverse for the fam though

Nice sled when I was a kid we had two pumas that my dad bought new in 97 which I think was when they came out with the new style... Then traded them in 2000 for a zr440. never won a radar run but loved riding that sled... I had a 91 skidoo formula 583 that i beat on most of the time. My dad collected old sleds for a little while had over 10 various models at once. I've been looking at the vmaxs was planning on buying another if I run across a deal, but I'm probably going to buy another motorcycle or four wheeler cause of the lack of snow. I am loving ducati's

My sled has about 4k on it. I love it! It runs perfect, like a car, no choke... I love EFI!
I actually drove a mint Blair Morgan edition ZR 600 before I bought this one which I probably should have gotten but it had slide rail carbs which are great carbs, but there carbs.
Theres a ZR 900 on Clist right now that looks sweet. That was kind of tempting...
Just wondering how comfortable is your Sno Pro vs. your 570?
Although I like this sled a lot im thinking I want to try and find a mint 02' ZR 600 X Country LE (Sno Pro)
That would bump me to a
-Powervalve motor with 118hp
-1.25" Lug track instead of .85"
-& the adjustable clicker shocks all the way around
I think that would be the ultimate version ZR for me
With how easy this thing starts im fine with out electric start but I will definitely be buying a reverse kit at some point.

I think you Americans who love snowmobiles would love it up here in Labrador. Winter time is sled-porn heaven up here.
We got tons of snow, so there are tons of machines around. Everything from Yamaha Bravo's toSWT Skandics (Unbelievable machines for off-trail driving) to full out race sleds that have no place being driven around town LOL
We also hold a sled rally race (Cain's Quest) that gets a lot of attention too. One of the longest and toughest in North America IIRC.

Cool! I would love to do a rally.
We probably got 5" here wednesday. Good base. Not a trail opener though. Its 1.4 degrees though so at least we wont loose any.

Its so cold up here I wouldn't want to go riding even if they opened the trails up! I think we need just a few more inches to open. Too much drifting

That's a nice sled Brad. GF and I both ride Polaris sleds. Mines a 98 Indy Trail and hers is a '92 Indy 500.
