as the topic says I am wondering how to go about switching my drum brakes out for disc brakes in the rear where can I get the kit and about how much does it cost?  Most importantly do you need alot of skil because I am not a great mechanic.  My brother owns a shop but is always too busy to help me so I would have to do it myself.

Look through previous posts on this topic. There are a few places that sell kits, but they are costly, and some will tell you they are of shoddy manufacture. The alternative is to grab parts off an older Neon with disc brakes and to do a little bit of fabricating.

My biggest concern if I had to do it again would be price of calipers and more importantly pads and rotors. My pontiac 6000 ordeal has $150 per caliper and they are now hard to find. rotors six years ago were $70ea and have no idea what they are now.

I drew 'on a napkin' dimensions for a metal plate to weld to each axle end. then the bearing assembly bolts to that, and the caliper plate that the caliper bolts to, fits onto my adapter plate. so recap= beretta studs stick out of axle, make/draw plate on paper to hand to machine shop, that plate will receive the disk caliper mount so it now fits on the beretta axle and voila, you have a mounted unit. my plates cost me $60 all for both and the machine shop furnished 1/4" steel plate.
