I have no idea but I really like to know
which beretta has which kind of OBD?
for example my 92 GT?
OBD 1, 1.5 or 2?

Up to 94 is OBD1, 95 is OB1.5, 96 is OBD2.

94 is also 1.5 on V6's.

Technically, there was no OBD 1.5. There was OBD 1, OBD 2 paired with an OBD 1 style connector as an oddball (hybrid of sorts) and then the OBD 2 only in 96. 94 and 95 had the OBD1 hybrid (commonly called OBD 1.5).

However the high output quad packaged 94 Z26 had OBD1 same as the 93 and earlier years. Just to mess you further. And obviously if I have some of that wrong, someone will correct me. LOL

Wrong! Lol. My 94 Z26 Quad 4 is OBD 1.5. Jeff off the Quad forums took awhile to figure a tune out for my car just because of that.

Like I said, I can't remember every detail. However that one I thought I had right. I seem to recall there was some debate. Maybe some were one way and others (later in the year) were the half breed.

OBDI.5 is a term for an OBDI controlled ecu that is a flash style chip, NOT removable... So technically you both have some wrong in your posts 94-95 has a standard OBDI data port and will work with all OBDI scan tools and such, but you just can't "remove" a chip to re-program it. You need to use special flashing software similar to OBDII... Hence why they call it 1.5. This is only true on the V6's. BUT its still OBDI language, its speed density non MAF and limited emissions codes... and up to 95 will be treated as OBDI if you have emissions testing. Only 96+ falls into the OBDII testing category which is a computer check only, (typically, probably not in CA though)

94 quads are probably a newer OBDI system or newer definition/map which is why it took Jeff a while to figure it out, but they still have a removable chip to my knowledge, so technically its still OBDI at its fullest, no where near as annoying as the 94-95 setups since those are only recently able to be tuned, Same way as 94-95 Camaro guys are doing it though.

All provided information is for usdm cars because that is what most of us have. Cars exported to other countries could be different. Chances are they are the same but I wouldnt be suprised if there are some OBD differences.
