96 Chev Beretta . Took off the tire to replace the rear brake pads and cant figure out where or how to remove the drum to do that. It looks like one solid piece of round metal.  Any Sugestions please???

The Drum is hollow, trust me.  Problem is... It is probably stuck.  Make sure the parking brake is off and grab onto the sides and try to pull it off, a jerking motion (no jokes, keep this g rated folks), and it should come off if not stuck.  If stuck there is likely a hole in the drum face between two of the wheel studs, this is for a bolt.  Insert a bolt and start tightening and it will push against the hub and pop it loose.  If there is no bolt hole then get a large 3 jaw puller and yank it off.  If really bad my favorite trick on commercial trucks with OLD brakes is to cut it off with a torch.  This will make you need new everything tho, including a new hub, drum, shoes, backing plate if you can't weld, and bearings SO DONT USE A CUTTING TORCH UNLESS THERE IS NO OTHER SOLUTION!

Take a 3 lb hammer and hit the edges of the drum. It should loosen up the drum enough for you to pull it off. This doesn't work very well if your hardware is broken or you shoes are stuck on the drum, but nine times out of ten, it'll get it loose.
