Last of the Raspberry Zingers

Well, you can't keep 'em forever...

I am down to my last Raspberry Zinger, the end of an era of Americana... You can still find some old stock from last year's final batch on line, but I don't think I'll go that far to resist the truth, that Zingers are now gone.
No more Twinkie jokes, either. How sad for our future generations, that they will have to survive on something else with a 50-year shelf-life and zero nutritional value...

Technically Canned Meat covers that last statement, and has an "indefinite" shelf life... But I guess there is SOME nutritional value to it, it is protein in some shape or form.
And I'm sure someone will end up buying all the recipes and names and re-producing it... just give it time.

Little Debbie makes "Cloud Cakes" now which are the same thing as Twinkies. I think they actually did buy the recipe from what I heard.

I don't consider canned meat to be food.
Actually, I don't eat any meat at all, sooo...

More meat for me!
And yes, Twinkies will be back in some shape or form. I had to make my very first twinkie wiener sandwich with a pack that I found at a gas station a few months ago, before I knew they were coming back.
It was very strange to eat, but I didn't hate it. I guess that's what I get for eating a food conceived by Weird Al.

wonder how many people hoarded twinkies to sell on ebay. took a quick look and it looks like they are averaging $6-7 a box

I never really cared much for Unions, they seemed to have worn-out their usefulness, and all you ever heard was how they had become fat, bloated anachronisms that paid for their reps to charter Lear jets for personal vacations on the Union workers' dollars... Then I worked for a couple of very bad companies that viewed employees as tools, rather than assets. What do you do with an asset that is having a problem? You give it attention and work it past the problem because it is valuable to you. What do you do with a problematic tool? Exchange it for a new one or just chuck it, maybe whack it with a hammer (another tool, usually one working for HR) to try to get it to finish the job until you have a chance to replace it. Unfortunately, with Corporate America taking over, unions may still be needed to prevent abuse to the worker that is really the backbone of the company, not the CEO that is 'earning' 1,000 times more by playing Solitaire in the top office... Bad a bad Union is bad too, pinching the worker between bad and bad. Overall, I think people should vote-in a Bill of Employee's Rights, and make it law. Wouldn't it be a plus for the economy if employees knew they couldn't just be fired tomorrow for refusing to work overtime today when it was demanded without notice and interfered with a doctor's appointment (just for instance)? Well, off-topic, but it was my thread to start with, so, I forgive myself

! Bottom line, if you need to have a Union, your job
may not be worth having as it is...
