I have a 96 Z26. I have been noticing that my drivers carpet infront of my see is collecting water (under carpet). I looked under the car and could not find any holes or opennings. I have no idea where the water could be coming from. Any ideas??

There has been a write up on this in Beretta Tech, you can get to it by going to the main page. I had the same thing happen, the water is coming in where the wire harness goes in the firewall by the back of the drivers side fender. It also helps to have the hood seal if you don't have one. If you don't have the seal get back to me and I'll tell you the only way to get one.

Please explain more about this seal.

The seal is on the back of the hood on both sides, it seals the area on the fender that water is able to run down near the firewall. I had to go to the junkyard and take the hood off of another car to get them out. If you try to pull them off the clip will break and I have had a lot of trouble finding the retainers, so I just went to yard. They will help, but you must seal the leaking area up also. Rodville you don't have the seals? I like that Euro, it looks good!

I found out that the water is coming from that wire harness that goes thru the firewall. how do you take it out. I got the inboard bolt off but can't get the outside nut off. does the harness come out in two peices or does it just pull out.

Wow, you are going all out! I just put some new sealer on the old stuff(when it warmed up I was going to scrape all of it out and start fresh). I don't know how to take the harness out(thought it would be too much work to unhook everything). I'd just let it stay where it's at and clean the area out very well. Then I would find some good auto body sealer and seal the whole area from the harness to the wiper motor(there is a seam near there and it can also leak). I bought some sealer from 3M for 40 bucks, but never got to try it before I lost my car.
