How hard would it be to make the battery sit sideways instead of facing the strut tower?

The tray is welded, so it could be a pain. Can I ask why you want to do this? Is it because of a intake system that you are building? Well there is a easy way, smash the tray flat and set the battery sideways. It won't look good and you may have trouble holding the battery in place. You sure don't want the battery banging around. Also I'm not sure the cables will be long enough. If you must move the battery. How about the trunk? You will need a battery with more power if you do put it back there. Also you will need a battery box, a way to hold it down and some big cables.

i already have a tranzgenic intake, i was wondering cause the wires i ran don't seem to like being bent so they connect the right way. and i already has one in the trunk and that wasn't too much fun.

I just twisted mine and it stayed in place pretty well. I did also have a giant power wire for my system hooked to the battery so that helped hold it in place. I did it on my 93 3.1, and never had a problem.

What year is your car? When did you get the tranzgenic? I had one on my 90GT. I did the bad thing, made the tray flat and pushed the battery over to the side to make room. I had to use strap to hold the battery in place. Wish I would have come up with something better. I had free air subs in the trunk, so I couldn't put the battery back there. Man, it took me forever to get the intake set up. I had a big K&N filter with another small filter built in the front. The K&N was bigger, but not by much. I had to set up the intake a strange way and it was hard to keep it from hitting the headlight bracket. Had to use some foam to keep it from knocking(I had a solid trans mount and a bad idle). Before the crash I had a vapor canister that would have taken care of the idle(had changed all the sensors first). When you are done I'd like to see your set up.

Ok, just checking. I had hope that Tranzgenic was back and would have a intake for my new car when I get one. Man, they are great. The only thing that I wish they had was reinforced silicone connectors. Hey, mine went out to the front of the car. Does yours do the same? I remember that some years went to wheel well.

yea it goes down by the battery and ends up under the headlight.

When do you plan to put it on? Are you dead set on what you are going to do with the battery?

the intake is in, has been since i got it. i haven't even took the time to see how much work it would be to turn the battery, its been too nice out.

Can I offer some advice? Just relocate the battery to the trunk and gain some room and lose some future hassle.
