You may remember Kyle if you were at Travers City Michigan. Well he asked to have a trans rebuilt and he dropped off everything necessary while I was in Denver.
Just doing a typical rebuild with all the sonnax fixes and a few other tweaks.
Progress
When this is all done I hope we can still be friends.

I do have a book, but most is just in my head, I use the book to identify seals and where filters and ball bearings go on the valve body. Oh and torque specs

If I ever end up needing another 4t60E I'm going to have you rebuild it for me, lol! I totally would have this time but everything kinda came down to the wire. Keep up the great work, sir!

That wasn't your fault. Just sucks That they won't honor their mess up because it's over 30 days.
And the chain is something you don't really know about till you get it open.

Yea I know, its all good now anyways.
This is gonna be awesome you're making a thread about rebuilding it. I wouldn't get this option if I had it done anywhere else

I make a thread about whatever I do so I can show what's done to the owner... I'd rather have them see everything that's going on, plus its cool to have that documentation of whats getting done.
Oh I forgot to leave out that Kyle purchased the 35/35 gears for a 1:1 ratio, and an 2060 converter so that along with the shift kit and a few other ecm tweaks will wake the car up quite a bit.

Umm, yeah yours doesn't look as confusing in the photo, and I believe I see a LSD sitting there... Do want... I took apart a Toyota auto transaxle once, found the problem and got replacement friction-discs for it for something like $2 each, then the decision on whether to band-aid it or do a full-on rebuild took so long in coming that the whole thing had to be cleaned back out to get rid of contaminants, it ended up a total fail as no one wanted to get it finished off, and I ended up throwing my hands in the air and walked off of it. I doubt I'll try tackling one again -I don't like slush-boxes enough to fix one for my own cars, and I know I couldn't fairly charge someone to 'learn' on their tranny, so it just isn't worth my time. I doff my hat to you Jon, to be able to take that one on with such ease.

Edit: just for clarity, yes I know I am looking at a five-speed here. I took one of those apart too after an un-repaired oil-leak caused the synchros to seize-up (my fault). I had so much trouble pulling that thing apart, I hope never to have to do it again, even for an LSD upgrade. I think something else on mine must have been seized too, because it wouldn't separate as it is supposed to. Between it and the first replacement for it (which had no third or fourth gears, and later lost fifth and reverse), I should be able to build one good 282 if I run out of the others (and since needing a rebuild on the one from my GTU that I replaced with the F40, running out of spares is a serious possibility), but I really don't want to work on one of those beasties again...

It's only a slush box if you let it stay one.

No disrespect intended -they just aren't right for me. I'm pretty vocal about not liking them too, but I don't mean to offend those that do like them.
