1 and 4 cyl. not getting spark

all coils ohm out @ 3
no signs of cracks/damage etc

ICM goes like this:
no resistance between
first and 2nd set of prongs
cylinders 1 and 4;  and 3 and 6
22 ohms @ 3rd prong 2 and 5

question is this normal?
does this mean a bad coil for
1 and 4 or bad ICM?

I am guessing that our trouble car here is not a quad 4 and has plug wires.

in that case, let me just state a few things:

plug wires [I'll generalize by stating all cars, etc] are allowed 1000 ohms per inch, so if you have a 10" plug wire, then 10000 ohms is replacement time.

coils should all have the same impedance, or similar values.

I suspect good computer, and this is probably a simple problem.  Get some plastic pliers [like slipjoints] and with the engine running, pull off 1 cyl wire and look [listen too] for spark going from the plug attachment boot to ground, some various metal on the engine.  I'm not trying to insult anyones intelligence here, but I don't have a whole lot to go on...  do this for all cylinders.  note engine change when wires are pulled off clyinders.  Dead ones will not change engine noise as they were dead and not firing in the first place.  

there is a min/max resistance value for our coils.  [email me at amckevitz@yahoo.com  and I'll look them up, or help more on this topic].  having one odd ball is not good, and I may state prematurly needs attention for it may be the culprit.


seems to me like the coil controlling 1 and 4 is open. aka broken.

ohms were low on the
other two and so they
were changed out about
a month later.
