Chiltons recommends GM Synchomesh but that's the same as 80-90w gear oil right guys?

There is also a Pennzoil equivalent at Autozone, specifically labeled as synchromesh.

12345349 has been discontinued for a few years. 12377916 is the replacement. Or you could get Redline MTL which is good stuff.

Redline MTL... for when you have to have a perfect shift at over 7K RPM. For some reason though it makes downshifting into 1st harder.
