i'm looking at buying a 94 Z26 for my daughter and it has a oil leak.

right under the front manifold, there is a plug that plugs into what felt like a cylinder like plastic tube that screws of fits into the block. that's where it is leaking and in turn show no oil pressure, but actually runs and idles great.

can someone tell me what this tube like thing is that has a elect. plug that plugs into it is.

if not does someone have a schematic of the engine and i could point it out to you guys

thanks alot

Mine quit at around 101k, so I would say yes. It gradually lost the ability to hold and show pressure on the gauge, then just started leaking all the time and gave a reading of zero. Have fun getting to it.

if you do buy the car, I found the easiest way to get it, was by jacking the engine up several inches...it gave me a better angle to get to it...

or just have a mechanic do it....

i  changed mine  in the parking  lot at the parts store because mine leaked  so bad it went through 8 quarts of oil in  10 miles.

if you have the socket for the sensor you can just use an extension and get it easily from the top. a shop probably wouldnt charge more than $40 to put it in.
