89 Beretta GT, rear brake steel line is leaking just in front of driver's rear wheel. Leak is right at the black plastic retaining clip that holds the two steel rear brake lines and the fuel lines.

I replaced the fuel lines and these brake lines in the summer of 2003 with a GM assembly that came pre-bent with all the lines. I cannot find this assembly on the online GM parts sites. I remember it was about $125 for the assembly of five lines.

Does anyone sell pre-bent steel rear brake lines that run along the driver's side frame (from the master cylinder all the way back to the flex hoses in back). If not, (and I dread doing this), what bulk tubing do I need to buy? Are there straight assemblies in parts stores that have the correct nut thread sizes on both sides, or will I have to flare bulk tubing?

Like I said, I was fortunate to have a factory part last time, but I think Father Time has dealt me a severe body blow on this one. Thanks in advance for the help, folks.

The dealer by me still had a couple available for the 95-96 last time I checked. I know Woody used them on his car and iirc he just had to rework the ends to fit the master cylinder. Maybe he can chime in. If that will work I'll check with the dealer to see if it's still available. The big issue is shipping. The part only cost me $127 when I bought it 2 years ago. Where are you located?

Many years ago I had to make brake lines for my truck. The Carquest store had straight lines in various lengths with a standard fitting on the end they also had adapters and couplers and also short pieces with correct fittings for the master on one end and the standard fitting for the tubing on the other end. Then you just add a coupler.
I'm not sure what Autozone has but they probably have something similar. I know their brake line tubing says it's suppose to bend easier but I never had a problem with either as long as you don't try to bend too tight.
I have since bought a tubing bending device which wasn't that expensive but used it only once since.
So, they stuff is out there but it requires planning and shopping around.
BTW, I bought a low cost flare tool off Ebay. It's a bit tricky to use and id does work but I would not recommend
it.

It was $167 to ship to my house, and $117 to ship to my workplace. Just FYI.

I did buy the 92+ assembly several years back from the dealer. It was in the $100 range I think...and I did have to modify the ends because I ended up putting it in a 91 car without ABS.

Your most cost-effective solution is probably to buy straight lines from the parts store and bend them to fit and splice them with unions. You can get adapter unions and even some adapter brake lines to get from the threads on the master to the typical fittings.

If you do end up going with the universal route, I would recommend CuNiFer lines (branded as NiCopp at AutoZone). They're an alloy which is significantly easier to work with and is impervious to rust.

How do you know what diameter line to get though? There's different answers everywhere. And fittings too, just measure the current ones with a wrench?

The lines for the brakes are 3/16" . The fuel supply is 3/8", return is 5/16" and vapor is 1/4" if I remember correctly.
