Power window problem

I'm having an issue with my driver's door window.

It has become somewhat stubborn. in going up and down and sometimes only goes half way.

Interesting thing is I can pull it up or push it down the rest of the way if I keep my finger on the switch.

There is a bit of history on the switch. The "auto-down" always had a tendency to stick and would heat up and not work until it cooled down if I forgot to manually click it up.

Sooo. Any ideas? Switch or motor?

Where would you start?

Cheers

I have not had this problem with the Berettas. However GM PW motors have a type of circuit breaker inside that goes bad.
I had that problem on my 1994 Lumina mini van and on my 93.
The problem was also on mid 80s' G body cars.

There is a method of bypassing that circuit interrupter.
