You can buy a Limited Slip unit from Engineered Performance www.engineered.net.

They work perfectly. Had one in my 3t40 attached to the 3500.

Never gave me any grief at all.

From one of the few that have tried it, Dave over on 60* said to NEVER weld the diff or lock it on a FWD car unless you NEVER want to drive it on the street, it's a death trap if you do.

As Eric said, contact Jeff at Engineered Performance, He's currently building my 4t60e HD diff for my new setup. Yes it has two blocks in the center of the diff with springs but the thrust washers behind the spider gears are swapped out for bronze bushings so there is no metal to metal wear, they act as a buffer as well as provide some friction to help aid in 2 wheel grip, it's a well engineered setup and the only option for the 3t40 and 4t60e, and hell even the 5-speed guys that I know of.

At the price of a LSD and the potential power you might make, I would think of going with a 4 speed "E" trans or 5 speed. Might cost a little upfront, but the headaches and constant troubles you could face might be far more expensive.

A side from that, the springs with plates LSD worked ok. Had some lazy burnouts here and there, but overall it was better over the open diff.

That piece you posted is JUST blocks and springs... No clutches behind the spider gears so if you use that... happy gauling and you'll eventually weld the spider to the carrier and destroy it. I've seen some destruction photos of what that type will do to a diff... so I'd steer clear of them.

You really can't go wrong with the EP unit.

Not cheap, but you get what you pay for as I suggested.

Mine was flawless, didn't even know it was in there til you needed it and it never let me down.

The 3500 left straight every run and 1.87 60' times can attest to the fact the darn thing worked.

EP is the way to go for sure. I loved mine. I also had the teamGreen setup that is metal on metal.. its worthless, really doesnt do anything.. if you feel like screwing with suspension, removing the front swaybar or putting a smaller one on really helps traction.

I also have teamGreen, if I lift up the car, turning one wheels turns the other one too in the same direction (would be opposite without it) but just a slight touch on the other wheel keeps it from spinning, so I'd say it's a limited grip instead of slip I doubt it's not enough to ever harm the differential.. cause it barely does anything just like Alxsmt said.

When it comes time to rebuild my trans. It looks like I am buying an EP unit for it.
