i was fixing my car when not surprisingly my wrench went through the rear shock(its really rusted) and left a huge hole!

anyways i have to replace them obviuosly but i need to know how to do it
it looks simple but so does everything else i attempt

-jack up rear end on center of axle with a floor jack as high as you can

-jackstand it securely near each wheel

-when you are sure all weight is off the shocks, remove the large bolt (19mm?) on the bottom of the shock. Its probably seized and rusted, lube it and hit it with an air wrench, or just tug really hard with a 1/2 rachet and breaker bar, as I remember I needed air to get it off

-When bottom bolt is off, open the trunk, pull out the cover, and find the tops of each shock. undo the shock mounting hardware and the shock comes out

-be sure to replace the mount as wellas the shocks. KYB Gas-A-Justs are the best bet for Berettas unless you want to go the very costly Bilstein route. On mine they work great, but are fairly rusted after 2 years in the N.E. US.

i went and got cheap ones anyways becouse its all i could afford

but i did it and found it the easiest thing to do on the whole car infact its easier then changing the altenator!

yeah, actually shocks were the first "real"work i ever did on my beretta, and was also the first time i used my impact wrench and air compressor, and it was pretty damn simple, especially compared to the *hit i've gotten into later with this car!
