I just bought a 96 Beretta with a 3.1 V6., automatic trans.  It has just over 100K miles on it, but looks awsome!!!!
The speedometer and gas gauge do not work.  I am also having trouble getting the key out of the ignition unless it is perfectly set in a special position of Park.
I really need some help on this one and need to be able to get it on the road ASAP.  Any and all help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey Steve, congrats on the purchase  All of the problems could be caused by a number of things, so I'll just throw some ideas out for you.

Speedometer & Fuel Gauge:  Possible bad gauges, disconnected/damaged wires behind the gauges, disconnected/fouled/bad vehicle speed sensor (on transmission, probably top rear), disconnected/bad fuel sender (in fuel tank).  A bad PCM is also a possible cause for the speedometer failure.  Does your cruise control work properly?  If it does, you can rule out the speed sensor and computer.

Stuck Key:  There is a cable that runs between the shifter and the ignition switch (not the ignition lock cylinder, which your key goes in) on the steering column.  There's probably something wrong at either end of this cable.  You can disable this cable if you really need to.  BTW, this information is from working on a '91 Beretta, so the details may have changed by 1996.
