my ebrake doesnt work so i decided to check in the console area to see if something was loose, and to also clean it b/c it's nasty lookin in there! but how do i get it off, i know that there is a bolt or 2 in the bottom of the flip lid thing. where do i go after that

There are six bolts that hold it down.  two inside the storage comnpartment, two in the middle under the shifter trim bezel, and two in teh very front under the flip up ash tray.
