Check out the new IC.
Still needs a little work but this is a daily driver @ the moment.
I forgot to cover the Grand Am! :P
Was a tight fit with a few cuts to the GA dash display. No cuts to the GTZ.
All 4 Work Too!

That cluster looks better in the GTZ than it ever did in a GrandAM

That is definately something I have not seen done before. Does everything function as it should??

Yes everything works. I tried to use the Q4 IC. The tach was off so I then swapped everything from the GA IC to the GTZ one (Motors and lights). The tach was correct to the motor but not to the GTZ dash. So I was left to modify the GA dash for Accurate readings set and double checked by the lappy.

Really all you would've needed was a V6 cluster...

No, he's running a 00+ OBDII GA harness and ECM... i doubt that even a 96 cluster would have worked.

What is your plan to fix what you have pointed out? Looks like a good idea.

Even with the GA harness, etc.. the old V6 cluster still would've worked. Everything has a dedicated input on the old (analog) clusters. You could make it work in almost anything.

All of the gauges and most of the lights in the GA cluster are provided their information via the Class 2 data bus.

yeah but with a GA harness, the dashes read from the ECM for most all... Same reason why you can't just plug a 96 harness in a 95 at all, or put a 95 in a 96 without running a wire for the RPM signal... I doubt the older cluster would have been able to register much with what data was being sent there.

Cliff hit it right on the nose. All the information comes from the PCM. 1 wire. Then fuel was a seperate wire to the PCM.
I dont think even the v6 90 dash would have worked.
I have not put alotta thought into finishing the IC. I will probably take the GA dash out again and either use fiber glass to fill the spots or cut the actual gauges out and fix then to the GTZ faceplate. This one is accurate and works for the moment.
I've been fixing the exhaust and looking for Turbo plumbimg.

Basically, as long as you send the signal to the cluster, it will display it. So why not send the signals to BOTH the cluster and the PCM is what I was saying.

I know all well and good how the GA dash works. It's darn near identical to my Alero, just with the trip reset inside the cluster.

Interesting. Any indicators, like high-beam or low oil level?

funny u ask weba.
 I covered one side only flat blacked the rest. I even forgot the Turn signals.
I been thinking a different setup with the GTZ dash.
