I need to know just how hard or easy it would be to replace some really noisy lifters in my 95 3100. She still runs great but that noise is louder than my exhaust sometimes. It really sucks, Is there possibly a quick fix that I know nothing about? I have searched many places and come up with no results

PROLONG engine oil!  lol.  I don't know if it'll help the noise, but this stuff should "help".  

Note*  this prolong oil contains CHLORINE which is highly corrosive to metal.  ~self explanitory~

Well I had to replace my lifters on my 1995 3100.(other reasons)  You have to pull your upper intake off and your push rods.  Thats the easy part you have to take the belt off to get your Alt off to get you upper intake off.  PLus not to mention the price of the lifters.  Looking at 15$ each.  I would also support the engine with a block of wood and a jack and take off the engine mount so you can move the engine a little for the back part of the engine that you need to do.  Def reserve a saturday for this.

i would also change your oil while your at it.  Those lifters need so good oil at first.  I rather pay 15 bucks for oil and a filter than doing this process over.

Believe it or not I've heard people use kerosene or diesel fuel to clean internal engine carbon build up and unstick lifters. I know you drain the old oil and put 4 qts of it in. But I dont know how long you supose to run the engine for. My guess is only for a couple of seconds. Someone here may have a better idea than I do or may have done it themselves.

Kerosene is the base ingredient for many "motor flush" products.
