Rough idle

Hello all! New here and of coarse with a problem.
It’s a '92 2.2L auto w/204k miles.
Runs ok off idle but when warm it will run a little rough at idle and if you gas it and let off quick it will almost die and come back. Also has light ticking which I atribute to worn valve train, may also be the problem with the rough idle?

Now for the weird part. If its raining the car will run crappy (try to accelerate and it hesitates/jerky). Will drive for like 5 minutes then the idle will degrade to the point where it dies and wont restart. If I let the car sit for 45 to an hour it will fire up and run fine with no problems except for the rough idle as mention in the first paragraph.

Has new plugs. Color looks good, light brown. Checked EGR works fine. Replace fuel pump and filter. New oil & filter w/ 20-50 Castrol. When car is cold idle is up, IAC appers to be working(?) which I pulled and cleaned with carb cleaner.

Thinking about replacing O2 and/or TPS sensors. I may gut the cat. I realize with this kind of miles it could be anything. Just looking for ideas to try and narrow it down.

Since water seems to effect it I would suspect wires or ignition components.  You can try adding water onto some of them and see if it gets worse.

Replacing the O2 sensor will not harm anything.  If the cat were plugged up the car would not rev up very well and seem sluggish.

Yep,  the moisture sounds like ignition.  THe warm rough idle could be a failing EGR or MAF too.  SO many sensors can cause rough warm idle that it is hard to figure out easy, especially if only an intermittent fault.
