hi can ayone tell me what this might be? ok here it goes my car out of the blue will have trouble going and lose all power ive done a tuneup even fuel ffilter!! ill here a loud ticking noies when it loss power but when the noise stops the power is back can anyone help me pleae?

What year and motor?

Sounds like a lifter trying to collapse possibly. Could you be more specific as to the symptoms? Year, model engine would be helpful also.

it is a 96 z26 has the 3.1 everytime the ticking noise comes it loses power and when i go up a hill it barley makes it!! dosent do it all the time comes and goes.while driving.

how is your oil pressure when it's ticking and not ticking? Have you checked your oil to see if it looks 'milky'?

Any idea if the ticking is coming from the top or bottom of the engine? Oil pressure making a sudden drop when you hear the ticking?
How is your oil level? Have you checked it? Or changed your oil recently? Any additives or significant changes to the engine recently? All these things are helpful to us to help you.

oil level if fine changed it just did tune up nothing seems to help could it be a bad injector??? just does it out of the blue loses allk power wont go over like 10miles per hour then all the sudden gets this burst of power!!!!
