I am replacing my cv joint boot but i cant get the cv joint apart. the hynes manual describes it alot differently than what i see. Like it says to tap off the retaining ring from the outer shaft, but its all one piece. Has anyone dones this on a 94+ beretta?

Is it the out board boot that you ar replacing? If so, you can tear the boot off, follow the shaft down to the cv joint. clean the grease away from the base of the shaft at the cv, and you will find a recessed area, with 2 ends of a clip showing. You need snap ring pliers (really strong ones)to spread the ends of the clip and keeping the clip spread, pull the shaft straight out.
