Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
Hey guys, how do these make my wiener look? haha
Got the 33s mounted on the new soft 8s with the center caps I cut vinyl bowties for. I also installed the sport bowtie in the grille. Now I just need to paint the bumpers black and make a new 1500 emblem to get rid of the gold bowtie. Thinking a red bowtie with "350" in place of the "1500".

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
I've seen those. Some of them dont look bad, but I'm sure a black housing kills the light output.MY91GT(Z) wrote:theirs soome nice blk headlight kits on ebay if your looking to blk out the trucks front end more
These are the only one that I thought might still have decent light output. I'm sure it's Chinese crap though...

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
yeah but im sure with the dual hedlight mod it would helpout alot in the night for 25-30bux if im not mistaken.
im looking into some blk headlight and blk led taillights for my new denali as its goin to be white and blk theme like i was starting to do on the old yukon you seen.
i just found some long tube headers i want to put on the denali but it only comes in a kit where i buy an x pipe and cats to go with it(which this is the only way i can find them to fit my truck) but it would run me bout 1500 which will happen when taxes come in prolly and i have some c.c. debt to get rid of first

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
Tires make a huge difference. I love the MT-R's. I would have put them on the stock wheels but whatever, its your truck, and I'm cheap like that esspecially about putting nice steel wheels on a vehicle that gets driven in the winter. How much tread do the tires have left and how much did you get them for? A new set of MTRs will nearly outlast a used pickup. Got 40000+ miles out of my set. Still on a plow truck, 3rd truck they've been on.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
I dont like shiny, otherwise I would have kept the stock wheels. Braking suffers with a 16x8 steel vs 16x7 aluminum, but with a 1" wider tire (285) I figured it was a good idea... and now it doesnt look so much like an old geezer truck.
The tires are about half tread and I got em for $240. Wheels with center caps were about $270 to the door from Summit.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
I don't know on the later GMT400 trucks, but I know on the earlier ones there were two different brake setups available. You may be able to upgrade to the heavier duty brakes (I think for the ext. cab?) to get some of that braking back.
Then there's also the hydroboost upgrade FTMFW.

I can put 3/4 ton calipers on my stock spindles & rotors. I might even be able to run 3/4 ton spindles, rotors & calipers I don't know. It will have to stay 6-lug no matter what I do.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
Rather than upgrade all that, hydroboost is a far better bang for the buck if you can find a diesel (or some gas 2500 or larger) in the junkyard.

Re: NC road trip to pick up my pickup
How does it make that much difference? Just upping the lines pressures?
The bumpers are done!
Here's a walkaround:

For the most part that's what it does. But the pedal feel is totally different too.woody90gtz wrote:How does it make that much difference? Just upping the lines pressures?

Now there's no chrome. That's the big thing. This looked like a grandpa's truck:
