Chicago is home of Da' Bears, Da’ Cubs, and those guys that play on the south side. Half the city burnt down because of some stupid cow in 1871. Its located on beautiful Lake Michigan and has awesome weather during the summer. Chicago was the location of the first car race, First Automobile race in 1895 http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/duryea.htm, and is also the location of the First Automobile Show...and continues to this day. It doesn’t have that dirty souf heat & humidity. We also have three ¼ mile dragstrips to choose from, Byron IL, Route 66 Dragway in Joilet IL, and Great Lakes Dragway over the border in WI.

I think it's time to allow Chicago their bid -----

--- since they did so poorly with the Olympics...

I also frown upon going somewhere we've already been. But that's an opinion only...

They only spent like 16 million on their proposal for the olympics only to find out that money would have been better used elsewhere.

The registration site is not up yet. Planning for the even still has not started. I expect some chatter soon on the planning mailing list after the new year... Hopefully...

We typically shut down shop for most of december and early January every year. Most people are too busy (and lord knows I am) to plan Bfest that time of year. Once I return from the Detroit Auto Show next week the planning committee will get into full swing.

For a group full of procrastinators, we sure are jumping the gun by getting nervous in January this year! :runsies:

I think its odd... its been a LONG time since the Detroit Auto Show and there has been NO activity on the Bnet planning board... Even after I posted a topic asking whats going on... COMPLETE silence.

Is this going to be the first year where the ball is dropped and Bfest doesn't happen?

I'm concerned about my car being ready... but at this rate it doesn't seem like I need to be ready for anything unless I just want to drive it this summer.

Easy Jon, check your email tonight...

I've been buried under projects - aka fixing my van's head gasket 2-3 hrs at a time after work. I've been working on it since the show... finishing this week.

Darn rookies :runsies:

Well yes I'm a rookie, and I could understand not hearing from you because your swamped, but no one replied to my message, Cliff, Carl, anyone... so I thought that was kinda odd.

That all sounds great. One minor typo thing, Goose Island is at 1800 N Clybourn, not 800. They are doing a special tour for you? That's cool. I have done their regular one are on Sundays--good tasting for a couple bucks--http://www.gooseisland.com/pages/clybou ... pub/65.php .

I am nobody special, just a Chicagoan with an almost-beater '91 GT, and I happened to see this info while looking for how-to docs. Hope I can make the Fest and see some much more awesome Berettas. :)
