For those have worked on a Quad before, what is the difficultness of taking the head off ?
I've never really tore into a quad 4 before, but i've been told they are a b!tch to work on. True ?

IMHO:
4 days doing it out of your backyard. Reason I say this is that, you should heliflux the head, have it surfaced, and cleaned. Then check the specs on certain stuff. Then you have to order parts, and they don't always stock them on hand. Can't forget about the friends that come over to help you drink beer and get you all twisted up.

yes they can be a pain in the @ss but will worth the reward!!! why they are a pain is the front chain cover needs to be taken off, the oil pan loosened, power steering moved, intake removed, exhaust removed, front bracket with alt/ac punp removed..
i probly missed a few.. just make shure that theirs no warp to head an block..

Hmmm.....Well.....I can give it a whirle. I'm in the process of doing a cam, head, and intake swap on my mustang, so in my spare time i can start tearin it apart. I have an ol' trusty hayness, should get me my way through it. I pulled the plugs last night and i think all of them were fouled. And there is absolutely no power, so i'm think i have a blown head gasket, or cracked head, either or. But the thing is, it doesnt over heat. I'll look more into it.

If it isnt' using coolant I would not tear it apart until I checked EVERYTHING else.
Check the fuel pressure regulator, and ALL ignition components.

^^ Yes, if it's not loosing coolant and making slimfast in your engine.... Then look more towards electrical for faults & then fueling.

add on. There isnt white smoke from the exhaust either, and it has no cat. . Also, i let it run for about 15 minutes or more, and it went up to about 1/2 ( motor temp ),then back down to about 1/4 when i reved it for a bit

Your intake is a dry configuration...
Look in your rad. , not just teh overflow.

Yea I would check for air bubbles in the radator while running. You will have to find the actual point of the leak on the engine. Keep an eye on the oil because you don't want to ruin the engine bearings.

What would that mean if there are air bubbles in the radiatior while running ?
I'm pretty confused here of to what my problem is. What are some options it could be ?

If you have bubbles while running, then you have a compression leak somewhere about in the head... IE: headgasket, Cracked head.
