BerettaFest 2010 Chicago Best Engineered Award

Post by Asylum »

The Mr. Potato Head Best Engineered Award is to become a classic and cherished BerettaFest Award.

There is only one previous winner. Lil'Jon at NE in Albany.

However for Chicago 2010 the Award will take on a special meaning and notoriety in that it will be the first time it is awarded at a National Event.

To that end I have decided it should not be an arbitrary decision on my part (although Asylum Motorsports will continue sponsor the award)

So I am looking to have members nominated to adjudicate this presentation.

Thing is, your car cannot be one that may be represented in the judging process.

So I need five (5, no ties) folks who know cars and are willing to take this on Saturday during the Car Show voting.

No big deal, RIGHT! LOL!

What were the qualifying points to consider? In other words, what does it take to earn this most prestigious award? LOL

From my understanding, it is for the car that was put together with the most technical skills and best thought out parts combination that functions well.

I'd be able to do this with you Eric... I spend way too much time scouring over the cars as it is!

So let me get this right... the best engineered award cannot go to a car that is eligble for any of the other car show awards? Just want to make sure, because that would mean that those people who want to be eligble need to make sure they don't register for the regular car show stuff then - right?

I thought the Best Engineered can't go to those who WON one of the other awards... But I could be wrong on that one.

I'm not sure it should be that exclusive, but i hadn't really given it alot of thought in that regard.

It should go to the Best Engineered Entry.

Should that car also win an interior or paint or engine award I don't think that should eliminate that car from further or overall consideration.

But we can talk about it.

That sounds right because the only exclusive award I know of is the Best of Bfest one.

IIRC this is the second time the award has been rewarded...

BUT it is the first nation MR. Potato version.

I actually have both, from 08 and from NE Albany. 09 Did not have one since you didn't attend.

Yeah that was before the paint and the real fogs that I got. Has nothing to do with looks. I put it together well and it performed the best, and I still drove it home. So ghey on that one :P

Everyone settle down!

This is a very special award, and while the premise is to have a laugh, the car winning this is perhaps the one we would all wish to own.

Maybe I should have called it "The Mr. Potato Head Endless Pursuit Of Perfection Award" :P

It's all in fun, but will recognize a well built and executed Beretta!

And this year it's really is a neat trophy!
