I have a 94 Z26 with 165,000 miles with the 3.0 engine I'm not ready to dump as of yet. I am having an on going problem with the power steering system. I have replaced 2 AC Delco power steering pumps and I'm still getting leaks. Other than leaks with the pump I'm finding also issues that I notice are the fluid is boiling out of the vent hole on the reservoir cap. I have air in the system that I can't seem to remove completely as when I crank the steering wheel the system make a chattering noise and vibration. I'm sure some of you have battle this problem as my local front end shop said this has been an on going problem with these cars. Any advice or suggesting other than getting rid of the car?

You do have air in the system and the chattering may be because you need a new rack.
In addition it has been my experience that buying a new pump without the resevoir as a complete unit, they are prone to leaking when re-assembled.

Check the passenger side of your rack. Mine had actually rusted out and was bleeding fluid and sucking air there a long while back. But as Asylum stated, you probably need a new steering rack installed. They aren't too bad to do, but that's most likely why you keep killing your pumps. I would also check your firewall for rust around the mount points of the rack. If its bad, then you may want to consider throwing the car away, or parting it out on here to members.
