Well, WE'RE HERE! Let's back track a bit though and see what it took to make that happen shall we??
Ron made it to my house Sunday afternoon from Las Vegas, checked in and went to have dinner with one of his good friends who also happenss to live in Colorado. We proceeded to drink once he got back. Surprise there huh? Monday we hit the road and went to four of my local junkyards just scroungin' for whatever we could find. I managed to get the battery cover I wanted to cover up that nasty green battery in my engine bay. I scored one or two other little pieces too. Other then that? It was us walking around a bunch of busted cars in the heat. We headed home and started to clean up and mod our cars a bit.
That night, we drank. Surprised?
Tuesday was the all out cleaning and modding day. I didn't really realize how much I had to/wanted to do to the car until I really got started! I was putting coats of paint on my new body kit and bumpers, painting trim pipeces, detailing the inside of the car and more. Ron cleaned up his car as well. He managed to break the contact ring for his horn and cruise control so we had to run back to the yard to get one. No way he was goona drive over 1000 miles with no cruise control! I totally scored and my MRZ EGR delete plate came in the mail that day, the day before we left for the fest! I also got my rebuilt LED sidemarkers back from my friend, still a little wet with fresh silicone. All in all both of our cars came together nicely... Although mine cut it very close. We managed to get the side skirts and front lip back on the car at midnight. We made it to bed for a wonderful four hours of sleep and headed out to Chi-Town!
We pounded out over 14 hours of driving on Wednesday. My car has never run better! I changed the fuel filter for the first time in a long time before we left. That and the EGR delete knocked me up to 26 MPG on the way out here. Not bad for a 21 year old beast! Oddly enough, Ron had the lead as we pulled off to get gas and a hotel for the night and get this... he pulled off on the damn same exit that Dan and I did in '07 on our way to Detroit! We stayed in the same hotel! After anotther round of driving for about 4 hours we made it here!!! Pulled in the lot at about one to a few cars and people already here kickin' it. There was a warm welcome, some "Hey I haven't seen you since Detroit"s and beer. After a few hours of meet and greets, and of course beer, everyone left for the go kart track. Everyone but BMAN, Sara, Ron, Asylum and myself that is. We sat around continuing to drink and hold down the fort in the lot. We made our way over to a sports bar where Asylum is already apparently a regular and had some dinner, and more beer. At this point Ron was about to fall off of his chair and I still had not even a buzz! (living at altitude gave me the drinking advantage). Asylum was getting tired and cranky so we took the party back to the hotel lot. Eventually, the go kart crew started to roll into the lot and we continued to drink. We drank and drank and drank until I went to bed at 2:30. Ron had passed out much earlier but there were a good 20 of us in the lot doing it up. There were still a good 15+ people drinking until about 3:30 I'm told. Wow, this group can put them down!
So enough of my play by play... how about some pics??
Ah, the scenery... NOT! Flat and boring the entire drive...

First stop for gas. The station's sign next to us advertised "Best Looking Cashiers". We didn't go in to verify...

Ron, Rollin' deep.

Yeah, that is hot!

Gas stop again...
