I offered Pat (Rex 2.0) $750 for his plus my California no rust stock hood at B'Fest Niagara 2008 and he was having no part of it.

It takes a some attention to detail and alot of work to make them fit right. (But they never will)

Lil'Jon has about the best fitting one, and it's almost acceptable, but it's still not right.

Too bad Harwood never considered the Beretta as a worthy project.

On that site it says the hoods are for 87-94, is that like a misprint, or will they really not fit 95&96 cars. I know of no diffrences between the hoods of any year berettas. Just wonderin'.

the only difference i have noticed is the prop rod goes into the hood in different locations throughout the years. I had the hood off of my 93 parts car painted and put in on my 94 and the prop rod doesnt fit in the 93 hood slot. But i dont think they would be different past that.

eric why would you offer 750.00 plus a hood when they are cheaper on the link you sent??? .....we are looking to buy one from someone that has one to save on shipping if anyone has a one for sale

I'd have to guess..

1)Opportunity: Both cars were there at the time.

2) It was already the right color (if it was going on the quad)

3) No shipping to canada.

Plus all the work had been done to make it fit the car, as that is also a major concern with these hoods.

Also IIRC they wouldn't even take his Canadian credit card when he tried to order a brand new one from US body.

Mine did fit well, and still does, but still looks a shade "off" and also now the body work done to repair the destruction this hood saw before I bought it started to shrink a bit, so there are some lines you can pick up on the edge from where it was cracked to hell.

I still stand by my words before... The only best cowl hood is a completely custom one MADE from a stock hood, and using only metal to fabricate it. Any and all fiberglass versions will crack over time, and putting a fiberglass cowl on a metal hood just never works right.

It is a lot of work to get them to fit and I had to use the favor card on a friend to get it painted.
