BerettaFest 2011 Indianapolis, IN Proposal
Gentlemen... Start your engines! Co-organizers Mike Pride and Doug Blair invite you to consider a return to Indy and a return to the Brickyard, where the Chevrolet Beretta achieved its pinnacle of poularity as the pace car for the 74th running of the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).
The 3rd BerettaFest was held in this very city, and while the vast majority of us weren't there, we have all heard what a great experience it was. The first of many highly populated BerettaFests, the '99 fest set the stage for the next 10 years of such gatherings. An 11 year absence, paired with new people and the chance to see the coveted Beretta Indy Pace car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum make 2011 a great year to return to America's heartland for a run at the Brickyard.
While BerettaFest 2011 in Indianapolis would give our members a great experience with the usual go-karting, drag racing, and IMS tour which would be our effort's main focus for group events, Indianapolis has a lot to offer the casual BerettaFest attendee.
-Like the NFL's Colts? Go check out Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Colts.
-Want to see where the sports classic "Hoosiers" was filmed? Go check out the Hoosier Gym (http://www.thehoosiergym.com/) or the Hinkle Fieldhouse (http://www.butlersports.com/information ... fieldhouse) on the Butler University Campus.
-Or maybe how about the NCAA Hall of Champions Museum (http://www.ncaahallofchampions.org/index.php).
-Want to do something with the kids or get reacquainted with your younger half? Check out the Indianapolis Zoo (http://www.indyzoo.com/).
-Want to get away and shop while all the guys are drooling at the racetrack? Check out Metropolis mall (http://www.shopmetropolis.com/).
-If there is anything inbetween, or being left out, just check out http://www.aroundindy.com/ to see what the current events are in Indy, what there is to do, and links to even more attractions and activities!
