Any one from Ohio?

I am buying a car this weekend in Ohio and had a couple questions for any one that lives their.

Do you guys have auto tag places? I tried looking around on google maps close to where I am buying the car (columbus oh) and they lists auto dealers when I search for tags. In PA we have shops that do just plates and titles. Also if you guys do are they generally open on Sundays?

In order to use my tow dolley the car has to be plated.

Also from what I can tell their is going to be 6.75% tax on the purchase as well. Can some one verify this for me?

yes ohio has the bureau of motor vehicle places around the states. Generally I don't think they are open sundays. But around columbus you might be able to find one that is.

Also i think you pay the tax rate for you local address. but i could be wrong about that. i had a friend who bought a car in ohio got the temp tag and then paid illinois taxes when he titled the car here.

All of the BMV places are only open til 1 on Saturday and are closed on Sundays. This is not going to work very well. Do car dealerships do temp tags for people that did not buy the car there?

Does it have to be tagged Ohio? Or is this a PA law that you need a tag on a tow dolly

If not then just slap a plate on it and drive like a respectable individual... Then again that will be the one time someone decides to run the plate of the car on the dolly.

The dolly itself is not registered so what ever vehicle is on it has to be. Worst case scenario I was going to bring the gtz plate and use that. If they run it it will come up as being a beretta. Just as long as I don't get pulled over and they check vins.

Pat is buying another Beretta? LOL

Is that a PA thing with the Dolly not having a reg? I think the one that Amy's father has is registered itself but I could be wrong.

My dad says the tow dolly would have to have its own plate and everything or the car has to. He is talking with my familys insurance/ auto tag people and we are going to most likely call and have them switch the plate since the gtz is in pieces and will not be driven til spring. If I get the car

I am going to try and buy the indy that is going up for auction on Saturday. http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detai ... ntryRow=48 I have always wanted an Indy and this one is damn near perfect. Got a loan from my credit union and going to try and win it. I am hoping with all the vettes it is going to be completely over looked. I was keeping it a secret but it is to late for any one to register to bid unless you show up in person.

Go for it!

And how much of ole rex 2.0 is apart again? Just the turbo or did you pull more investigating the oil consumption?

The turbo is off and part of the interior is out so I can get to the heater core easily. I am most likely going to tear into the motor as well. I got plenty of time and found the quad 4 videos I was looking for so it should be a lot easier. VERY informative. I found them on you tube under Quad 4 training video. I also have a quad specific tool kit with lots of specialty tools they refer to in the video so that should also help.

Hmmm all of the dollies I have delt with have been registered as trailers so you can pull a unregistered car.

I tow my 240 with a tow bar all over the place and never had an issue. It has no plate.

No plate>wrong plate. If some cop would really have nothing better to do and would to pull you over, he might help you out if you explain him the situation and give him the title or something.
